Alzheimer?s disease, an age-related neurodegenerative disorder, is the leading cause of dementia. Researchers at King?s College London study many aspects of Alzheimer?s and dementia. These include the biological and genetic causes of disease, new treatments and improvements to care. The Open Day aims to increase public awareness of this devastating disease, and to explain current research goals to interested members of the public. Attendees will have an introduction, several talks by researchers and the opportunity to interact with scientists as they run a selection of activities. The day concludes with a question and answer session with a panel of experts.
