This may be some sort of mid life crisis, but I am a professional ex touring, now teaching musician, who finds himself suddenly yearning to start his first ever garage band. I am looking for a drummer and bassist(I dont mind swapping this role with another guitarist) who don't mind singing too. Thinking Jam rather than Hendrix (not that theres anything wrong with him), Talking heads 77, Radiohead, The Shins, Police etc.....

Happy to do a few a covers, but have lots of original songs and would be looking to Jam up some more, plus would welcome others' good originals..

Please dont be too busy (the London disease) to rehearse at least once a week.

Scruffy and fun for sure, but I am looking for musicians of a reasonable standard

I have played more acoustic than electric up to now, so I should then right mix of competent and scruffy too..

Thanks for reading

All the best Dan

Hi Dan

I'm a drummer and guitarist and have been playing for around 30 years (I'm 38). What sort of age are you looking at - not sure if this is too old or too young :P

I've played in bands for years and I'm a huge fan of garage bands - think Deus, Pavement etc.

Happy to do a few covers too.

PM me if you're interested

Andy

Alas I don't have the free time to join in (I'm very keen to start playing more bass again, used to be pretty good but play more guitar these days). But if you get this going and want a local rehearsal space have a look at this place ion Peckham. Very good rates.

Only if you want to use your own amps/kit. I'm usually happier to use whatever gear is at the rehearsal room, leave the car at home and crack open a few beers. Mind you, that could explain why we never really get anything done!

You already get 2 mics thrown into the basic price, which is enough for most people I'd think.

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!
    • Avoid KFH. Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
