Just a warning to anyone starting up a Nectar card from the Sainsburys in East Dulwich.

I picked up an application form last November, and was told I could drop it in at the front desk, which I did.

About two weeks after booking flights to Australia and putting the points on the card, I enquired as to how many points I now had, after using the card for groceries and over Christmas.

I was utterly speechless when I was told by the Nectar 'help' line that my card was stolen and had been cancelled, as it was in my handbag and was certainly my card which I signed when I first got it. They accused me of being the person who's stolen it.

Seems that someone scammed my application form and the card was registered by phone in a man's name.

Marched up to Sainsburys and demanded an investigation to find out who'd stolen all my points, (which isn't the point, cause my personal details being stolen was my main concern).

Was fobbed off with a ?10 voucher and Nectar refused to cancel the points, which the man had by then tranferred to another card. Hopefully won't be donating my flight points to him also!!!

So shocked that this could happen at somewhere like Sainsburys....check your details with Nectar, if it's even worth having a card, I'm certainly questioning that.

My Nectar card once got lost at Sainsbury's - somewhere between me handing it to the cashier and paying my bill it disappeared with all 30,000 points. We did a good search of the till, my pockets, the floor but no trace of it was ever found. Fortunately, I managed to get the points transferred / locked on the missing card onto a new Nectar card whilst I was at the store shortly before 10pm when the customer services operations at HQ shuts down... otherwise it would have been goodbye to my future custom at Sainsbury's.

Nectar refused to tranfer the points, even though I knew where they'd been spent and mostly when. All because this man had reported the card stolen, and he had the card number, mind you I had MY card!

It's a clever scam cause if it's reported stolen, me producing at the store means nothing. Even despite my signature.

Livid is an understatement.
