Skiing wins. I've just got back from a week in the Grand Massif (Les Carroz, Flaine etc) - 5 skiers, 1 snowboarder and we were ALWAYS waiting for the boarder to catch up, do up his bindings, get up off of his ar$e yadda yadda yadda.

DieBoardersDie!;-)

Snow conditions were the best I've seen in years with inches and inches of powder even on the lower runs. Visibility could have been better and there was only one sunny day but the snow made up for that. Might be going back for a sneaky weekend in April.

It basically involves taking a puppy to a black run. Dig a hole through the snow to the ground. Driving a stout pole into the ground. Tie the young dog to the said post. Set of an avalanche. Deadmarkthedog.

I definitely prefer skiing... I tried boarding a few years ago, but got fed up with falling over all the time. I've never felt so sore in my life.

Most of the people I usually go away with are boarders. I travel at approximately double their speed down the slope, and they're very picky about what slopes they'll go down (nothing too steep, nothing too flat, not too much camber, etc). But I must admit that snowboarding looks a lot more fun in the powder.

Seems skiing is still very strong it seems ,we go as a mixed board/ski group really depends on skill level but do tend to wait for boarders. Have you tried any twin tip fat powder skis........snowboard influenced shaping and technology, basically like a pair of Subaru imprezas on your feet..........wheyyy

Cant wait

    • Wouldn't it make more sense to ask the guy who posted the rumours for the source of the information? The Crown & Greyhound refurb was a big job - not surprising that it took longer than just a simple repainting. But renovating the Grove would be even bigger because it's totally wrecked, and there's a shortage of skilled labour and much more expensive materials now...
    • Rather bizarrely, I received a text from TJ surgery offering this service. To be clear, no data was asked for in the text so I don't suspect a scam but surely this is dodgy? Where does my DNA info end up and who would have access? I'm going to the surgery on the invite date to ask precisely this.
    • I used Emmaus https://emmaus.org.uk/slc/ to clear my grandfathers house last year. They were great. They all charge for this service so will come and give you a quote first.
    • Hi, does anyone know of any charities or companies that can come and clear your house to be donated for a good cause? I know the British heart foundation does but wondering if there are others? We are moving overseas and hoping to donate most of our belongings in one swoop if we can! Thanks.
