Extend the question to any recent past or present Politician and I would like to see the beheading of Kenneth Livingstone, the weasly one....preferably in a Public Ceremony in an empty Bus Lane of his choice, while being witnessed by a multitude of stationery car users in the other lane, who cannot go anywhere, anyway..

In fact the beheading will be unnecessary as he could just be left there and die more slowly by inhaling all those lovely fumes that the cars are belching out while immobile.

Give a whole new meaning to going green...

To add to the hypocrisy of New Labour John Prescott's comment was

Mr Prescott said in his video blog: "What is totally unacceptable is the way the woman walked away, claiming it was her right in democracy.

"She should have been arrested. It is not acceptable that she should be allowed to walk away after an assault. If it had been acid, would she still be walking away?

"We had better get a grip of this situation. Frankly, public people shouldn't be expected to be physically assaulted with such impunity."

Oh dear, I don't expect to win any friends or influence people with this post. I find myself agreeing with two-jags (dear lord it felt so dirrty typing that). You can?t assault someone and expect to just walk away. There should be consequences.

To answer the question ? back in the day ? Margaret Thatcher would have been my (virtual) target of choice. Those were days of innocence though, when I thought that a Labour Government would set the country on the right path. How dumb was I?

I like Mandelson, on account of him actually being capable and knowing his arse from his elbow.. unlike most rhetoric-monkeys on both sides of the ballot box.

As for the slime.. water off a duck's back.

If I had absolutely nothing better to do* than purchase a pot of slime, wait patiently for several hours in the hope my target turns-up and then throw it at them as futile gesture in the name, er.. well, just a futile gesture, then I'd go for Blears for sure. She's the worst.

*Better things to do might include, say, creosoting the fence or bus-spotting.

I think I must be on a totally different planet to all the above. I am sure that if someone did to you, what that ignorant girl did to Mandleson all of you would be hopping mad, and screaming that she was tottally out of order. If she did it to me I would have slapped her very, very hard, and see how she liked that. Whether you like Mandleson or not surely your own decency would make you think her action was wrong. How dare she be allowed to do such things and get away with it just because she wants to impose her view on someone else. If we started doing that what a dangerous place this world would be.

Ah, May 1997. So heady was the aroma, even the sight of John Prescott (even Robin Cook, or does my memory deceive) jigging away to D:Ream become something forgiveable. Like your long-widowed uncle finally throwing off the shackles and jiving with the prettiest bridesmaid at the wedding.

How bleak the winds now, how inevitable that the bridesmaid is but a haggard crone, and the uncle doing time for embezzlement.

No, I couldn't live with it. What recompense do you offer society?

What can I say Maxy. I'm deeply ashamed of my 1997 self. If I could only put the clocks back?.. Hindsight is 20:20 is it not?

So you can see my dilemma can?t you; I?m agreeing with two-jags on his Mandy assault stance. He?s ?. erm ?.. right.

P.S. Maxy - you've forgotten Neil Kinnock

I think your work ensuring the people of the EDF see as many bands as possible is as valid a response as any to this trauma. That and the shoe thing, of course.

Ahh Kinnock, I see him trying to savour his younger, more favoured successor's victory, straining for the right mood, like an ageing centre forward left on the bench for the cup final, after having ground out results in the early rounds. But he goes home after the party, checks the hairline in the mirror, the downturn of his purpling lips, and realises this is all he'll ever be.

Yes I had forgotten him, and that is his fate.
