Sol
Does anybody know Which one was the furthest distance for an offer at the charter this year and last year.? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55179-catchment-charter-school/ Share on other sites
Carbonara
There are 2 people on the secondary admissions thread who said they would have got in on last years distance but have not been allocated Charter this year.A lot can happen as the waiting lists move, accept the place offered and stay on the list for Charter etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55179-catchment-charter-school/#findComment-829251 Share on other sites
Tanza
Anecdotally the furthest I've heard it stretching to is Dovercourt Road this year so far. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55179-catchment-charter-school/#findComment-829303 Share on other sites
Sol
Is that about 800 meters? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55179-catchment-charter-school/#findComment-829392 Share on other sites
gingertom
Someone on another thread said the furthest first round offer this year was 1100m. I have no idea whether this is lower than usual or how much it is likely to change after the inevitable shake down of places. Sol
Thank you. Also, do you automatically go on the waiting list if you put it as yours first choice? Or do you have to speak to the school? I am new to this whole secondary school application. Is it 180 places? minder
Yes it's 180 places that can be offered in Year 7 and The Charter have this info on their website anyway. Curmudgeon
Yes you will automatically be on waiting list for schools you put above your offered schoolThere's lots of movement with school places and lots of really good schools. If it helps 3 years ago we were offered Charter at the start of September but stuck with Kingsdale, which was absolutely the right decision for our child Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55179-catchment-charter-school/#findComment-829514 Share on other sites
Sol
Great. Thank you very much for the information Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55179-catchment-charter-school/#findComment-829635 Share on other sites
littlek1cker
If you ring up The Charter and ask to speak to the admissions team they will tell you exactly how far away the further person they accepted was this year and each year for the last few years. They were very helpful when I rang up a while ago. The catchment area tends to shrink each year as the population grows but I couldn't tell you exact distances.
