Thoughts on KFH estate agent?

I was using another lordship lane estate agent who I won't name who were useless and moved to KFH and have recently sold my flat

I found them very proactive, professional and quick to give feedback on viewings. In today's slower property market believe you need all of these characteristics to sell quickly

In terms of value it is a two way discussion and I think all of the estate agents have a habit to over value. Personally it is better to do your research on what prices similar properties have sold for recently and let them know your target as well

They sold our Peckham flat very efficiently and quickly, were extremely helpful when they didn't have to be, and didn't give me any of the usual estate agent bullshit. They're pricey, but they didn't actually over-value our flat and they did their utmost to find the right buyers for us.

I think it depends more on the individual you're dealing with rather than the agency.

People do say that KFH over-value (and this is also my experience) but at the same time, as a vendor you need to get several valuations, and look at what is on the market, then decide for yourself what price seems realistic.

Our experience when looking to market the family home was an extremely condescending one with regard to KFH.

The agent when he visited the house seemed very conceited, preferring to continually look in the mirror and adjust his hair and tie whilst speaking, rather than provide some tangible information. The house is in need of updating and modernisation and when discussing the different figures involved came the most arrogantly offensive, supercilious and insolent remark you could possibly want to hear, "people like you don't have the money or resources to do it".

Needless to say, they didn't get our instructions, but it is worth noting that when we mentioned this attitude to other estate agents within a stone's throw of KFH's offices, they all replied that they weren't in the least bit surprised to hear it!

So if you choose them, be prepared for such incongruous behaviour.

I bought my flat last year from KFH and it was a difficult process as the sale took 17 months from offer to completion however I found them very good at keeping me up to date with what was happening with the purchase and they were not part of the delay but did their best to keep the sale progressing. Personally as a buyer I didn't find them that bad to deal.

We were on with KFH and they did a fabulous job for us. No complaints here. They were helpful, patient and excellent at keeping us updated. They were very straightforward and I was grateful for their help in what could have been a stressful process.

Perhaps it depends on the office that you are using?

The OP asked for views on selling with them, not buying.

It's fine, useful to have all views. Poor you Simon!

I think we just want honesty and hard work esp for a 3 bed flat. Can't stand agents who are suited, booted, drenched in aftershave and just talk jargon. There's another agent on LL and every time we've been in, we've just seen 2 bored, slouching girls filing their nails. No customer service.
