Hi all

I'm considering continuing with an appeal against a Penalty Notice I have received for doing a U-turn on New Cross Road alongside St. James' Road which is a No Right Turn. There are no 'No U-Turn' signs or 'Ahead Only' signs there and I'm wondering how successful I am likely to be with an appeal.

In the first instance I replied pointing out that I had not been turning right into St. James' Road (which is a dead-end) but doing a U-turn but they have rejected my appeal which I had expected.

Anyone know where I stand on this and whether I am likely to be successful if I continue with the appeal?

I got the same ticket for a different area with the same lack of a no u turn sign.

Going down St martins Lane and trying to turn into the Trafalgar Square. No right turn! So did a left then followed all the other cars doing a u turn. Westminster must be making a killing.

I've paid up.

Thanks Peckham Rose. Not sure whether to go ahead with appeal on this one though as I've just found some info stating that the Council have to prove you actually crossed the building line of the road you are entering if they accuse you of turning right at a No Right Turn. I'm not sure whether I did or not so might ask for the evidence.
