red devil
Unless someone knows him personally and is privy to such sensitive information, how would anyone on here know they were ''adding fuel to the fire'' AM? As Otta rightly pointed out earlier, Medic could be a WUM when he wanted, yet took offence easily... StraferJack
Like AM, RPC is a smart cookie. And I suspect her outright rudeness of late is also down to offline matters (she has always been prone to directness. Which isn't always a bad thing. But recently she has gone too far)She might disagree. Which means everything is a ok in real life and she is just being hostile and rude for no good reason Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826271 Share on other sites
El Pibe
to be fair she's one of those people i've applied my mental : to, so i have no idea what you're talking about ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826272 Share on other sites
Jeremy
Actually for a while she was one of my favourite new-ish posters (maybe because of the directness coupled with some smart put-downs). Not so much after recent comments about fathers/children. Otta
Just to clarify, I've no real problem with RPC (my previous post sounds a bit strong now I read it back), but on occasion (like the fathers thing, and the response to the woman who#s daughter dropped her phone down the bog) I've been gobsmacked by her posts. maxxi
It's been said before but unless one brackets with txtese, or ejaculates emoticons over the screen, misunderstandings of posts are bound to occur as happened in the 'bob' exchange*.It can be a pain having to spell things out afterwards to avoid a snarl-fest and a grudging acceptance of the explanation by the 'aggrieved' (implying they're not 100% convinced) might leave one thinking 'why do I fecking bother?'This may lead to an epiphany of the "it's all bollocks" kind; with the forumite carrying on regardless, serene in the knowledge that it IS all bollocks and so doesn't matter.Alternatively the revelation is that it is all bollocks and so totally pointless which ends in a retreat or sabbatical or flounce or attempt to quit cold-turkey.So I suppose it depends which side of the bed you get up.*Not the *Bob* exchange (to avoid misunderstandi- ....) ????
RPC - All a bit cliquey ganging up by old old posters Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826300 Share on other sites
El Pibe
ha ha, you are silly sometimes quids. In a cliquey thread about an old poster, where another poster is [apparently] of particular relevance, some people express an opinion. And that's 'ganging up', *chortle* Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826302 Share on other sites
StraferJack
what... critique of RPC is ganging up by old posters? I dunno - she's an old hand at this. Nor is she a shy wilting flower... Anyone.. anyone, old or new, is capable of being out of order. Anyone can be called on it - far too easy to say "old posters" rather than look at the charge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826304 Share on other sites
Loz
I rather like RPC. We don't agree on a few things, but that's life on the forums. She usually a good read. Otta
Quids is just above all this nonsense. But for the record, if several people independently think that someone is being rude, then perhaps it might be worth considering whether maybe just maybe that person is actually being rude. Rather than just firing off the very easy "clique" card. StraferJack
Yup - forum is a better place for RPC's presenceBut disagreeing with her doesn't constitute an attack surely? Mick Mac
AM had a few spats as Declan, Narnia and AM so there is form. I think he took things to heart, probably should have just told a few people where to go. :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826315 Share on other sites

El Pibe
SJ's little quips to self often get misconstrued and blown out of all proportion too.Clearly Irish people should never be given keyboards ... or quills, no tradition of the written word you see, useless I tell you!!! StraferJack
so racist EP, so racistI realised long ago that my quips cause way more damage than their intention - and yet I cling to this idea that people will "get them" - so I'm trying to stop Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826329 Share on other sites

numbers
cannot believe a lot of you never realised that alanmedic was an anagram!!! actually quite gobsmacked by that. lady (or was it laddie?) muck if I recall pointed that one out aaaaaaaages and aaaaaaaaaages ago. I truly thought it was common knowledge amongst regular posters on here met the good Dr Medic IRL and he is indeed a lovely person, I do hope he graces the forum with his presence again soon. I do think a lot of people have taken his posts in the wrong way and I myself have been guilty of that in the past too until I got his posting style. I remember the lovely PGC (also miss their posts) tried to intervene in his favour once when everyone got the wrong end of the stick about something. anyway hurry back Dr...there are 100s to be got! Don't give quids the bloody satisfaction :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/54672-to-the-member-of-my-clique-alan-medic-who-is-no-longer-here/page/3/#findComment-826387 Share on other sites

But I wanted to clarify that I hadn't intended to start a public put down of anybody. That is the honest truth.
