Unless someone knows him personally and is privy to such sensitive information, how would anyone on here know they were ''adding fuel to the fire'' AM? As Otta rightly pointed out earlier, Medic could be a WUM when he wanted, yet took offence easily...

I've had to stop myself (twice this week) from calling her out for being a rude bitch.

Complete and utter lack of empathy, and judgemental in a really bad way.

Like AM, RPC is a smart cookie. And I suspect her outright rudeness of late is also down to offline matters (she has always been prone to directness. Which isn't always a bad thing. But recently she has gone too far)

She might disagree. Which means everything is a ok in real life and she is just being hostile and rude for no good reason

Just to clarify, I've no real problem with RPC (my previous post sounds a bit strong now I read it back), but on occasion (like the fathers thing, and the response to the woman who#s daughter dropped her phone down the bog) I've been gobsmacked by her posts.

It's been said before but unless one brackets with txtese, or ejaculates emoticons over the screen, misunderstandings of posts are bound to occur as happened in the 'bob' exchange*.

It can be a pain having to spell things out afterwards to avoid a snarl-fest and a grudging acceptance of the explanation by the 'aggrieved' (implying they're not 100% convinced) might leave one thinking 'why do I fecking bother?'

This may lead to an epiphany of the "it's all bollocks" kind; with the forumite carrying on regardless, serene in the knowledge that it IS all bollocks and so doesn't matter.

Alternatively the revelation is that it is all bollocks and so totally pointless which ends in a retreat or sabbatical or flounce or attempt to quit cold-turkey.

So I suppose it depends which side of the bed you get up.

*Not the *Bob* exchange (to avoid misunderstandi- ....)

what... critique of RPC is ganging up by old posters? I dunno - she's an old hand at this. Nor is she a shy wilting flower...

Anyone.. anyone, old or new, is capable of being out of order. Anyone can be called on it - far too easy to say "old posters" rather than look at the charge

Quids is just above all this nonsense.

But for the record, if several people independently think that someone is being rude, then perhaps it might be worth considering whether maybe just maybe that person is actually being rude. Rather than just firing off the very easy "clique" card.

Yes she is. But that's not to say that SOMETIMES she could think about how her posts might come across to another poster.

And if I've offended I'm sure she'll tell me and I'll apologise.

cannot believe a lot of you never realised that alanmedic was an anagram!!! actually quite gobsmacked by that.

lady (or was it laddie?) muck if I recall pointed that one out aaaaaaaages and aaaaaaaaaages ago. I truly thought it was common knowledge amongst regular posters on here

met the good Dr Medic IRL and he is indeed a lovely person, I do hope he graces the forum with his presence again soon. I do think a lot of people have taken his posts in the wrong way and I myself have been guilty of that in the past too until I got his posting style. I remember the lovely PGC (also miss their posts) tried to intervene in his favour once when everyone got the wrong end of the stick about something. anyway hurry back Dr...there are 100s to be got! Don't give quids the bloody satisfaction :))

For what it's worth, this post wasn't meant to be public, I'd meant to send SJ a PM and didn't realise my mistake until it had been commented on.

Now this could be looked at as worse (PMing one poster about another), I get that. But I wanted to clarify that I hadn't intended to start a public put down of anybody.

That is the honest truth.

    • Why on earth is there so much interest, and negativity, after a 100 days of a Labour government when we had 1000s of days of dreadful government before this with hardly a chat on this Website?  What is it that is suddenly so much greater interest? Here's part of a list of what they have done in a 100 days - it's from a Labour MP so obviously there is some bias, and mainly new Bills so yet to deliver/put into law.  This reminds me of the US election where the popular view was that Biden had achieved nothing, rather than leading the recovery after Covid, a fairer tax system, housing, supporting workers, dealing with community unrest following high profile racist incidents,  So if we think Starmer is ineffective and Labour incompetent then we are all going to believe it? I do feel sick after seeing Clarkson on Newsnight, playing to the gallery.  Surely Trump must have a high profile role for him on the environment and climate change
    • Hi looking for a shed for my allotment. Can pick up
    • But do you not understand how tough farming is, especially post-Brexit when some of the subsidies were lost and costs have increased massively yet the prices farmers can charge has not? On the BBC News tonight they said pig farming costs had gone up 54% since 2019, cow farming costs up 44% and cereal costs up 43%. The NFU said that the margins are on average 0.5% return on capital. Land and buildings are assets that don't make money until you sell them...it's what you do with them that makes money and farms are struggling to make money and so many farms are generational family businesses so never realise the assets (one farmers on the news said his farm had been in the family since 1822) but will have to to pay tax for continuing the family business. On another news item tonight there was a short piece saying the government has said that 50,000 more pensioners will be forced into relative poverty (60% of the average income) due to the Winter Fuel Allowance removal which will rise to 100,000 more by 2027. James Murray from the Treasury was rolled out on Newsnight to try and defend that and couldn't. You can't give doctors 20%+ and push more pensioners into poverty as a result.  The problem for Labour is the court of public opinion will judge them and right now the jury is out after a series of own-goals, really poor communication and ill-thought-out idealogical policies. And don't ever annoy the farmers.....;-)
