NO NO NO you have got this all wrong. There is a degree of humour in my post BUT it was not funny. I did not buy the phone--not that it is anyones business - but I did help out with the cost of replacement--that's what Mums are for. There really are some seriously judgemental people on this forum -- still all adds to the flavour.

Judgemental? EDFers????? I don't believe that for a second. ;)

My sense of humour is rapidly disappearing with my 22 and 24 year old still at home, but to be fair trying to buy a place to live is an impossibility for those on low incomes, but that's a whole different debate.

sjw is the phrase "let them stand on their own two feet" lost on you? When I was growing up if I couldn't afford something I'd have to wait, save up and then buy it. By the age of 34 Id have frankly been embarrassed even being offered a free phone handout let alone accept the offer!

Louisa.

Life seems to have changed, Louisa. These days 34 is like 14, and a lot of it's because parents refuse to let the little darlings stand on their own two feet.

When I first left home - and for a long time after - people didn't go straight from living with parents to renting a flat, or buying one. They rented a room, and often they shared one with someone else. Some of my friends' kids are horrified at they idea that they should even share a bathroom.

Is it me or is that the most phallic piece of telecoms equipment you've ever seen?

Its the angle and the way the light has hit it.

Foxy

RIP --- this has got way out of hand . Thank you for the advice on child care ,each to his own , live and let live and all the other wise adages.

obviously there are a lot of perfect people out there.Unfortunately I am not one of them and still see fit to help out my offspring. I didn't realise you abandon children once they reach a certain age.

    • We looked at a few contractors when considering our garden room and are really pleased we went with Canacabins - a great local company with many years of experience in bespoke garden rooms. Phillip and Pat maintained constant communication throughout the project from design to build and completion and they really listened to our design feedback, happily changing plans to suit our family’s needs. The team, Kaspar and Andy in particular, were lovely to have around and very professional. We ended up adding garden landscaping as the project evolved and it was great to have a company that already knew us.

    • I mean good luck to you, but with 4 staff you have still failed to submit your statutory accounts for your two eligible years of operation and are overdue with them this year too. Companies House have taken steps to close you twice. Your annual loss in trading is increasing each year.  You have had two directors resign in 2022 leaving only 1 in place which isn't the best if you want good governance- but that also stops you from being able to raise funds from trusts and foundations.
