Help. My year 3, 8 year old son isn't a fan of maths and I'm struggling to get the times tables to stick (and my daughter, but not to the same extent, she's year 2).

We've done a lot of dreaded Percy Parker - he can sing the songs beautifully but when asked tables out of order goes completely blank. Flash cards, repetition, and some pretty rubbish games online have been tried, but unless it's something he enjoys he is reluctant to make an effort.

I'm hoping someone has stumbled across a game/app that makes times tables fun?! Star Wars themed would be ideal, but I won't hold my breath :)

Doesn't have to be free, happy to pay a subscription or for an app if it helps relieve times table stress!

Thanks.

We use Squeebles every now and then.

There is a very basic game you earn "points" with as you do the times tables and you can play afterwards.

Its quite well laid out, and you can do little spurts of it

Would be interested to hear about other resources as well.

    • Blame me then as I will be voting for the Reform Party at the next general election after being a Conservative voter for many years.  Two tier Keir has just shot himself in the foot with his announcement about national insurance exemptions for Indian workers coming to the UK whilst he imposes the exact opposite on UK businesses.
    • I’m trying to organise a party for my teenage son and really don’t want to have to trek all the way to Goals in Beckenham. Does anyone know of any football pitches (Astro or concert) that you can hire on a Saturday?  thanks for your help.
    • Wouldn't vote for farage and his lot, so don't blame me.
    • Can't blame it just on Jazzer.  More than just one person to blame.  I'd start off with the Liv Dems going into coalition with the Tories.  But very much a six degrees of separation thing so we all must take a share of the blame 😔
