Hi, the restaurant is called Yama and is truly amazing.

I have been to other fabulous restaurants that the owners run (exceptionally well) and with pride

Looking at these ridiculous messages i think it needs to be made clear that the manager who was on the take. He was/is not all he purports to be.

IGNORE ANY VITRIOLIC AGGRESSIVE EMAILS ABOUT THIS PLACE FROM THIS OUT OF WORK GANGSTER

They are not worth the time

The ED forum is the most stupid place for people who wish to diss outlets and cause commercial harm. Such a shame

Hold on, this is written by Sarah, the owners PA isn't it? Mad Sarah?

Hello Sara. I'm Amy. I live in East Dulwich. I've got nothing to hide so I will tell you straight, I'm family.

We can all sign up and make silly comments. But you really really shouldn't have said those things.

On the take? Shall we really go into who's on the take darling? Who's not paying the taxman? I think you should take yourself off this forum. Say sorry to your boss and Peter, as he seems to be the only one with the dignity not to get involved in this thing, and go away.

What a silly silly silly girl you are. I'm sure I'll bump into you.

Hello, the real Peter Taylor here (seriously),

I was alerted to this thread earlier on today by a friend, now, thousands of miles away, I'm getting phone calls about it.

It's safe to say I'm "astonished" by what I've read this evening.

Let's hope this post puts an end to this thread.

I'm still not unsure what I'm most upset about, the thread or myself for signing up to even give it any credence whatsoever... Oh well.

Hmmm. Yama Momo: will get it right... Eventually. Like any new restaurant opening it takes time to develop, get things right, iron out the kinks, sort delivery times out, listen to feedback, understand the area, the socio-economic and socio-cultural climate of your guests/customers.

I left to become a partner and take part in a development opportunity in Bahrain and Dubai with the Bahrainian royal family and be a consultant for what I consider to be one of the worlds best restaurant groups. I simply couldn't turn it down.

While I was in East Dulwich however, I strove to improve the quality of the food and the service experience. We made changes, positive changes in the kitchen and at the front of house, and in the bar. And I tried to genuinely endear the restaurant to the East Dulwich and neighbouring communities.

As for the existing partners, I can only say I've seen them act in an honourable fashion.

I do wish the restaurant all the best! It looks like they'll need some luck, like all new businesses do, I mean, who knew East Dulwich could be so fierce? I must have just met the pleasant folk lol.

As for the other stuff....... Wow!

Thank you Jane. I think!!! More so Libbyer. I think I know who you are. Very honest, morally and factually with an integrity and objectivity quite impressive in this day and age.

Amy, if that's you, no more posts! Go away!

And Sarah, Sara, whatever your name is, we obviously need to talk. I'm not sure Ken would want you representing him like that, and throwing allegations around like that shows a degree of recklessness and unprofessionalism that is only guaranteed to cause harm to a business that pays your wages.

I wasn't aware I was an out of work gangster or a gangster at all.

Be careful about saying things that aren't true also. Goodness we both know the last thing your boss needs is hmrc or any other official body snooping around the business or yourself or the owners having to take drug tests to substantiate your character, aren't you a single mother?

Anyway, to wrap up, I wish the restaurant and the owners all the best.

East Dulwich is an incredibly vibrant beautiful community. The concept is a winner and I look forward to following it's progress from afar.

I make it a rule and have always done so to never read reviews or participate in forums so I guess I've broken my own rule. But I hope it brings some peace and clarity to the thread.

Thanks.

Peter.

Don't know who any of you people are- only looked at this thread as was interested in going to the restaurant. Safe to say, no one has come out of it very well- including the ex owner who now works with a royal family. Not quite sure what being a single mother has to do with anything.

Completely the wrong place for you all to be airing these strange personal grudges you seem to hold against each other.

As an outsider, the impression I now have of Yama Momo is somewhere I really wouldnt want to spend one of my few evenings out- regardless of the food.

I can genuinely not comprehend the level of crazy that this post has reached. Some serious allegations with the intent of harming a local business have been made and I can't believe it's still public.

Jane, if you have a problem with the restaurant, why don't you just send them an email? Or send in a complaint. I'm sure that's what most people do...and I don't think that any intelligent person on here would listen to the allegations of somebody who has openly offended the owner, the restaurant, the tardiness of the dishes, but then says to be going back on Thursday and Saturday............

I've been to Yamamomo, only a couple of times. Everybody who worked there seemed pleasant. The food was good...and that's all that should matter.

On the plus side, this utterly bizarre thread has made me want to try out Yama Momo and give them a bit of support. Whatever the personal issues between individuals (and there seem to be plenty!) it's not cool to come on here and try and trash a business under a "won't someone think of the children" guise.
