And while I'm posting pointless threads...new crisp flavours!

Recommended Posts

I remember when Walkers were very much a Midlands brand and did not appear elsewhere in the country. The rest of the you had Smiths and KP and suffered as a result.

At college in Brighton I frequented one particular pub because they were the only place in the town that stocked Walkers.

I have never been able to understand the European obsession with Paprika Crisps.

With you on the Sandwich Spread completely PR.

It's not for everyone given that it has that acidic edge of vomit that makes it a brave spread choice.

The hating of Marmite is I suposse fair enough. Free country everyone entitled to their opinions etc.

It's sold on this basis, those 'off the wall' marketeers being what they are.

But to suggest that Vegemite is anything remotely like an alternative to Marmite?

Marmite is a FLAVOUR, Vegemite is little more than a colouring. A darkening of the bread if you will.

Hate Marmite with all your heart but don't feel there has to be a substitute.

Marmite divides opinion, Vegemite barely warrants one.

Vegemite? Vegeshite more like.

    • What is also happening - I don't know about Sainsbury's as I no longer shop there, but certainly in other supermarkets and with some manufacturers - is that products remain the same price but the quality or quantity is reduced. Just one example: I buy Waitrose Essential tissues, only because they have plain boxes with no branding once they are in use, and I like the colours (blue for the large ones and mauve  for the smaller ones). The tissues in the mauve box have recently become so thin that they disintegrate virtually immediately you use them. Same with Cushelle quilted toilet rolls. Well, they don't disintegrate, which would be revolting, but they have also got so thin that it's hardly worth buying the quilted ones. And as for  PG Tips ...... 🤬
