Whilst I agree on Rye Lane itself you do struggle to find the trendy stuff (at the moment at least), on most of the side roads, leading onto it there is an abundant nightlife and cafe culture which is growing by the week. A walk around the top end of Peckham Rye on the junction with Rye Lane currently has Blue Tit (trendy East London hairdressing import), Pedlar (upmarket eatery and cocktail bar recently opened) a new independent organic food store with great window displays and I noticed today a new barbecue and craft beer restaurant/bar about to open in the row of shops next to the recently opened smartly dressed estate agent. It's changing and at a rapid pace.

Louisa.

I just wish they'd give them a lick of colour. I like the buildings quite a lot, but all that grey is a bit miserable.

It's the grey I like - and the way it weathers and how it looks when different parts are wet and drying - a lick of paint would ruin it.

    • We cannot recommend Fernando more highly. He’s absolutely brilliant. We’ve used him many times and wanted to post again following some work he’s just completed for us. He’s hard working, charming and respectful and very punctual and tidy. Very easy to communicate with and such a huge help in keeping our garden under control. Do give him a call if you need garden work.
    • I would like to highly recommend Greg for the high standard of work he did for us.   He built a new cupboard to a very high standard, to time and cost.  We are very pleased with the quality of his carpentry work and happy to recommend his work.  From Josie1963 - April 2025

    • Hello, I’m looking for tickets for two adults and a child to the Horniman spring fair this Saturday. If anyone is unable to attend I’d love to buy your tickets off you.    Sam: 07305659223   Our friend is looking too in case there are more available for sale.
