As well as our usual Holiday Club creative activities for 4-11 year olds, Nimble Arts is launching a series of exciting new workshops for 10-14 year olds this February half term!

Taking place at Heber Primary school, spaces are very limited, so we'd recommend advance booking! These are small, focussed, three hour workshops with creative professionals, really giving a chance for young people to develop and explore a range of different creative skills.

Workshops happen 1.30 - 4.30 Monday to Friday of half term, you can choose which days you come to. Book online at http://nimblearts.co.uk/?page_id=988

Here's what's happening each day:

MONDAY 16th February ? Acting ? Work on your acting and improvisation technique with a professional actor, and Nimble regular, Ben Neale. Ben has a wealth of acting experience in films, theatre and TV to his name, and also is a fabulous workshop leader and facilitator. Be prepared for an afternoon of honing your dramatic skills and a LOT of creative fun!

TUESDAY 17th February ? Animation ? write and film your own short animations. We?re delighted that the wonderful Helen Piercy will be joining us to lead this session. Helen is a professional animator, and has worked on diverse collection of projects, from directing an animated short starring Alan Rickman, to collaborating with clients including Children In Need, World Wildlife Fund, BBC Radio One, London Fashion Week, Saatchi Gallery and Sadler?s Wells Theatre! She?s also written a rather wonderful interactive book about doing your own animation, we can?t recommend it highly enough!

WEDNESDAY 18th February ? Song-writing and Music Production ? write and produce your own instrumental track or song. This session will be led by none other than Nimble?s own Catherine! As well as her experience managing learning projects for the BBC Proms, and teaching at Sydenham High and Heber Primary, Catherine is a prolific musician and music technology guru.

THURSDAY 19th February - Film-making ? write and film your own short film with professional film-maker Sally Briggs. Over the course of the afternoon, Sally will form you into a film crew creating your own new cinematic classic! Former BBC Producer Sally has been devising and delivering multimedia workshops and participation projects in schools and community settings since 2007.

FRIDAY 20th February - Graphic Novels ? learn how to turn your idea into a graphic novel..

Masterclasses run from 1.30 pm? 4.30pm and cost ?25.00 per session. We now accept childcare vouchers for all Holiday Club and Masterclass bookings!

We've still got spaces across all of our Nimble Arts Masterclass workshops for half term week! These are our brand new workshops for small groups of children (maximum of 12 spaces each day), all with experience creative artists, specially designed for 10-14 year olds.

They take place at Heber Primary School, but, (in reply to queries we've had!) they are separate to our holiday clubs for younger children, and participants will have their own chill out space and designated workshop leaders and pastoral team. Workshops last 1.30 - 4.30pm, but we can offer extended pick-up until 5pm, and do ask if you'd like to drop them off earlier to eat a packed lunch!

Any questions, or if you'd like to more about what to expect at the sessions, please do get in touch!

animation is the way forward in digital marketing, if you want your business to get ahead, you should try it out as soon as possible. You can try Splurj Creative firm. They are the one of the best when it comes to video production, graphics and motion designs, and animation.

    • The refurb has made it brighter and smarter with greater emphasis on weights and other exercise. Seems that cardio is restricted to the quarter of the floor area as you enter. This seems fair enough as I rarely saw more than half the cardio equipment being used at any one time. I have been told that some cardio will be on the newly created gallery space overlooking the main gym floor. Free weights area looks bigger and there is a good range of resistance machines offering to exercise most muscle groups. There are some new types such as a squat machine, whereas core machines for abs and back seem to have disappeared. I have been told that some machines have yet to arrive. Overall, it’s a great improvement.  To say it’s still a dump is unfair and untrue.  The alternative would be to traipse over to Beckenham where David Lloyd will charge you the same for two months’s membership as you would pay for a year at DLC.
