Hi,

I would like to recommend the services of Godden Structural Repair Specialists for anyone requiring any type of structural works.

We contracted David from Godden Structural Repair Specialists to carry out structural work in our semi-converted-loft with a view to remediate the structural building deficiencies by our loft conversion contractor.

Building Control failed part of the structural work carried out by our loft conversion contractor mid-way through the loft conversation due to, among other things, the lack of support of the ridge beam which could ultimately result in the collapse of the slope part of the loft roof. After a number of unsuccessful attempts to have the loft conversion contractor solve the issue in a satisfactory manner, we decided to contact David who had already carried out structural work for us in the past, to our full satisfaction.

David/Paul identified the issues promptly, consulted with their structural engineer, Ian, to ensure that the solutions proposed were structurally sound, arranged for structural calculations to be submitted to Building Control, liaised with Building Control as necessary, and carried out the structural remedial work in the semi-converted-loft to Building Control?s satisfaction. This enabled us to finally progress with our loft conversion (albeit not with the initial loft conversion contractor on whom we could obviously no longer rely).

I would like to add to this positive review.

We used Godden Structural Repair for some work to our house and were very impressed.

The work was done to a high standard, David and his team were reliable and in addition they were great to have around the house (polite and trustworthy.)

In addition some of the work to our roof did not need doing, so David advised us and reduced the cost rather than doing the work and pocketing the money.

He was organised, efficient, provided a clear detailed quote, clearly knowledgable about the local SE22 soil issues and an all round nice chap to deal with. Hi Lala24,

We are also looking to hire Godden to fix a big crack in our Victorian property. I was wondering if you also hired an independent structural surveyor to diagnose the problem and get the work signed off by the surveyor once Godden had completed the work? If so, I'm wondering if anyone on here can recommend an independent structural surveyor? If we decide to sell our property at a later date, should we not have some paperwork from a surveyor saying what the diagnosis was and that the work has been carried out to satisfaction by Godden?? Thank you.

Just to add we did hire Godden in the end and they fixed the problem in one day. I was happy with his diagnosis and the work they carried out.
