foxyarchie
I was out with my friend at the weekend who works for them and he tells me they've just bought a unit on LL - not sure where but we're going to have a TV/HIFI shop coming soon! Watch this space. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5324-richer-sounds-shop-on-lordship-lane/ Share on other sites

macroban
This speculation does not match Richer Sounds' current business model. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5324-richer-sounds-shop-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-170598 Share on other sites
penk
They usually set up in less desirable low-rent areas, which is how they are able to be so cheap. I imagine shop rent in ED is proportionately high, but would be good if there was one nearby... Jeremy
Nah, they're not all in low-rent areas.Chiswick, Chelsea, Swiss Cottage, Holborn, City...Richer sounds isn't that bad Mikecg. I'd rather have that than Dixons. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5324-richer-sounds-shop-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-170625 Share on other sites

bon3yard
Strange that people should be Anti-Richersounds, I've always thought it was an excellent franchise offering decent hi-fi equipment at factory direct prices(no I dont work for them). Better that than another bookies/indian/knick-knack shop. Bring it on and shame on all those dissenting voices. Michael Palaeologus
Richer Sounds would be a good addition to the Lane I think.I did some consultancy work with them some time ago. They have a good business model and are a supportive employer, albeit in a high-pressure sales environment. Cassius
I like Richer sounds - it would be great to get a new stylus round here without having to trek into town. I think some people aren't happy unless ED is packed with shops charging 5 times the going rate for everyday things, it fits in with some kind of aspirational delusion of theirs. Jeremy
Ah, that's the honk we know and love.Richers is fine... it may not be top end, but you can get a "proper" hi-fi for not much cash. Their TVs are usually well priced too. tiger ranks
Im sure the posh pr*cks who have moved into from the more posh post codes of london would not think twice of jumping in there 4x4 petrol vehicles and shopping up at john lewis as richer sounds is not a good enough name.It really gets on my nerves when people write into the dulwich forum stating which shops should and should not be in dulwich there is now another betting shop opposite somerfield which is much more damaging to LL Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5324-richer-sounds-shop-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-170745 Share on other sites

pablogrande
I don't think it's likely they will open up round here, I think they require areas that have high shopping footfall which includes people coming into the area to shop and office worker etc popping in in their lunchbreaks and on the way home, just don't think we have that in ED. SeanMacGabhann
I'd like it to be true, but for the reasons stated, I don't think it will happen.
