It's Boxing Day and The Annual Fox Hunts will soon be under way..

Approx 300 hunts will take place today despite being banned 10 years ago.

Foxes cannot be killed by Hounds although a Pro Hunt Spokesperson admitted 'Accidents do happen'

Foxes now have to be shot after being chased across the moors and farm lands until the terrified

animal succumbs to fatigue. It is not clear if it still legal to offer the carcass to the Hounds.

The Fine for ignoring the ban and allowing hounds to take a Fox is approx. ?85 -?200.

So there is absolutely no incentive to pay any attention to the law.

Fox Hunting is not a sport.

There are those who seeking to have the Ban repealed like The Countryside Alliance.

David Cameron and Nigel Farage both want to see the ban repealed.

As thousands of people take part in the last Boxing Day hunts before the general election,

Labour has written to the prime minister and the Ukip leader to ask them to issue a pledge that they will not repeal the Hunting Act.

???? I am sorry but your above statement does not make any sense to me. Can you please explain how you determined there is a 'class war' in regards to fox hunting and which classes do assume are at war?

Also what do you mean by 'Davis Spart surely?'

Sorry for the questions but I would like to understand what you meant.

Don't be naive - the fox hunting kerfuffle has always had an odd class war side to it.

Dave Spart ? ultra-left wing activist, always representing a ridiculous-sounding union (such as the National Amalgamated Union of Sixth-Form Operatives and Allied Trades), collective or magazine, which is frequently based in Neasden. Spart's views attempt to highlight alleged misconduct, prejudice or general wrongdoing, but often end up being contradictory and illogical. The name Spart is derived from the German Spartacus League that existed during World War I, and other subsequent revolutionary groups

surely some mistake

I am not being naive. It is a fair question. I always understood the anti fox hunting to be a animal welfare issue not a class one. But I am intrigued how you apply class to this issue therefore can you please explain how class is relevant to the fox hunting issue.

???? I also came across that wiki article however, I was unsure if this is the Spart you was referring to do. But again forgive my ignorance I still do not understand your original comment:

'Class war, we love it......Davis Spart surely?'

Are you suggesting I am similar to Spart? If so why?

People genuinely into animal welfare don't need to ask those kind of questions because they already know the answer.

For some it is an animal rights issue, but for others it is a 'bloody toffs' issue. I'd say, amongst those in fierce opposition to fox hunting, it's a pretty even split.

You can see this in the comments of the Guardian article Foxy linked to in his OP.

Plenty of people who hunt, fish and shoot consider themselves animal lovers and care that they're treated humanely - if not all animals equally, and some only with a view to putting them on the table... If you polarise every argument into black and white, you're never going to address the reality of the situation.

As for killing animals being a class thing, what were the royal family doing today?! Enough said'.

I presume you do not treat people in face to face discussions with such contempt so why do feel you can address me in such a manner? I have not shown you contempt or aggression and I am therefore some what confused by your response.

Also you have made absolute claims about me, either I am a ?troll? or I do not ?have a clue about animal welfare?. That is to say, according to your statement, there is no third alternative; however, can you prove either of your two limited possibilities? If not what does that make you?

I had asked: ?can you please explain how you determined there is a 'class war' in regards

to fox hunting and which classes do assume are at war??

Again, if you support such a notion all I am merely asking it that you explain and qualify it, that is all.

Oh here we go again. Aquarius Moon accusing people of being trolls and fake. This was also MY first experience of the Aquarius Loon Davis. And then there's this ???? person who thinks everyone that disagrees with him is a left wing loony.

The only people who think fox hunting is a class war issue are it's supporters, who like to label opposers as townies and plebs, if they are upper class, and townies as having no understanding of the countryside, if they are the countryside aliance, and loony lefties if they are ????.

Any idea that dogs ripping a living thing apart, after chasing it to exhaustion, is cruel, is an alien concept to those who support fox hunting. So it just has to be an 'us and them' class thing right? And I don't even know who appointed AM as an authority on who genuinely cares about animals and who is only 'ptretendin'. Contemptuous indeed.

Fox hunting and dog fighting. What is the difference? Both are banned for the same reasons and rightly so.

Well then, they shouldn't because they're not.

How can you possibly call yourself an animal lover, then go fox hunting & see a living fox ripped to shreds, pull a living fish out of the water & bash it on the head or shoot a living bird from the sky?!
