Kat
I'm thinking of opening an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in LL. Can LL cope with another restaurant? *Bob*
Yes please!Let's do away with half of these piss-poor Indian restaurants and get a bit of variety.. Dodo1
I agree. Why should we have to go all the way to Dalston. blinder999
We went to Hoa Viet in Camberwell at the weekend, and were very impressed with the food and the service - if you can match this, you'll be on to a winner IMO Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/523-is-there-a-demand-for-another-restaurant-vietnamese-in-lordship-lane/#findComment-11732 Share on other sites
fractionater
Lose one of the Kebab or fried chicken shops I say! Huguenot
Hi Kat, you may have trouble with the planners if it's an additional restaurant. There's a fixed split on types of outlets on LL, so if you're replacing a previous food outlet you may be okay. You should probably check on this before advancing your plans too far!BTW I love Vietnamese cooking, it's by far the best APac fod for me! Kat
Louisa - Don't think I can afford to buy out the Sea cow ::oHuguenot - It will be replacing one of the food outlet so should be OK. I'm in negotiation at the moment but they're asking silly money. I can get the same outlet in upper Street (Islington) for the same money but I live locally so I want to bring something new to the community. It's a big gamble, but hopefully there should be enough demand to justify the gamble. Jeremy
It would be welcome... you're not looking at the old Jerk Rock site by any chance? rob
Mrs Rob, Rob Jr and I go to Hoa Viet once a week - it is (easily) among our most favorite places to eat in London as the food is just fantastic every single time we visit. If you can make a spicy beef pho as good as theirs (and Pho can't, sadly) then we'll see you there... James
KatPlease please please yes!!!!Btw Jerk Rock end of Lordship Lane is definitely on the up, Gourmet Burger Kitchen is there and always looks packed, plus there's Liquorish, posh butchers & fishmongers... Go for it. I adore Vietnamese food and would love a local place.
