Like I said earlier I had this problem Constantly having to reset my router 10 times a day.

I changed my WAN Connection Type from PPPoA to PPPoE and the problem has ceased.

Might have to reset once or twice a week. But that is quite normal.

Just check your WAN Settings on your Router. They may of changed if you at sometime

did a hard reset on your router. Usually a button on the back of your device or sometimes

a small hole where you insert a paper clip / pin .

Being out of contract gives to better a negotiating position. If they refuse, threaten to change to another provider - I bet they'll send you round their first-born child with a new router gaffer taped to it. Especially as BT, Sky and V-media are campaigning hard for new business.

V-media sent us a notice just before Christmas saying they were raising our broadband price (which gives you the right to exit your contract). We rang them, said we were looking to take a certain deal with BT and they reduced our price there and then to less than we'd been originally paying with no new contract (though we still have 9 months on our old one).

(Seems using V-media's proper name is a no-no in the Lounge!)

Tried that in December, got a PAC (?) code after they only offered to reduce my monthly payment by 50p !!!

And I'm concerned at customer service if I go elsewhere, otherwise I would.

Fox, I'm sure it's my stupidity but I have no idea what you're talking about re WAN type. I've never done a hard reset on my router, and nothing has changed since the router was installed.

I don't want to do anything which might make things worse.

I'm going to try some other channels first.

Sue..

How on earth did you set your router up in the first place...

Http://192.168.2.1 will normally take you to your router...

Then you will need to enter Username / Password.

on a new router where you have not changed either

Username :- password

Password :- admin

You may need to refer to your Router Documentation.

Then just go to WAN Settings and check it is set to PPPoE

PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet)

PPPoA(Point-to-Point Protocol over ATM)

PPPoA is for Static IP addresses which you do not have.

By following the comprehensive instructions provided with the router ....

And I changed channels by following the comprehensive instructions provided by Plusnet ....

I don't have time to do anything else about this today.

So it might be worth checking out in advance what's on the menu on the night you want to book. Maria's is also lovely, but it's very small. I didn't think they had a table large enough for 8, but reading the above I'm obviously wrong!

I know people say there are good restaurants near Rye Lane.  Does anyone have recommendations for good places for lunch or dinner?  We like Manze for pie & mash at lunch. And I've been to Peckham Bazaar in the past, which was excellent.  Thanks!
