Many high streets have been taken over by charity shops. I can’t believe they’re paying full rent. I think landlords accept a low rent from a charity for a short term. Hopefully someone who actually knows will set me clear.

I believe charity shops pay reduced business rates but the rent charged by a landlord is purely a commercial decision regardless of the type of tenants. -

If JoJo can't afford the increasing rent there (which was one of the reasons a staff member gave when I asked why they were closing), it's odd that a charity shop could - not doubting what you've been told, but it just doesn't make sense!
