The Bigger Picture film club will be showing ? ?The Bishop?s Wife? (1947) at 8pm on Thursday, 11 December 2014, Upstairs at East Dulwich Tavern.

Bishop Brougham is trying to raise funds to build a new cathedral. His prayers are answered when an angel, Dudley, suddenly appears and tells him that he is there as his assistant. Occupied with his work, Brougham has been neglecting his wife, Julia, so Dudley keeps her company, arousing jealousy in Brougham. As Christmas approaches, Dudley works his charms to ensure a happy Christmas for everyone.
