Jah Lush
Afraid not but it's about time something was done with that building. It seems to have been closed for nearly a decade now. Pagey
strange place, used to be a bathroom centre. I heard that it will become the world's first vegan kosher halal gluten free restaurant. Siduhe
I read an interview with/comment from a gentlemen who owns (the freeholds?) of Anatolia and Si Mangia somewhere recently. Possibly Living South, possibly the SE22 Magazine*? The article said Anatolia would be reopening and he would be opening a third restaurant on the street later this year. I guess this may be it? No clue as to what it would be - he said he was actively looking for a business to open up a restaurant there. *In my defence, I was sitting waiting for a doctor's appointment and there wasn't much else to read. boosboss
I think Anatolia own the old Two Trees (Lounge?), there was some activity there a couple of weeks ago too. Louisa
Maybe it is going to be a BetFred and a Starbucks all in one, to reflect the population trends of the local area and to accomodate everyone. Sounds like a giggle to me. Louisa. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5174-new-restaurant-on-forest-hill-road/#findComment-166347 Share on other sites

zephyr
I noticed, where the hoarding were above the main windows are etched windows with 'The Galleon Wine Company Ltd' (or something similar). I am guessing its part of its previous life - Any ideas - an old off licence perhaps? Jeremy
Hmm... Anatolia. So that would be a Turkish place then?Personally I wouldn't go out of my way to eat Turkish food, it's the kind of place I would go to because it was cheap and convenient. It just doesn't excite me.Now a decent steak house or a French restaurant... that would be a different matter. James
Can we have some decent vegetarian options? East Dulwich is strangely lacking in vegetarian restaurants; I believe Turkish food is normally great for this (like the Tas chain in London, which has loads of great veggie options) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5174-new-restaurant-on-forest-hill-road/#findComment-170471 Share on other sites
bon3yard
Does this mean that there will be 2 Turkish Restaurants on forest hill road or are you simply relocating to the premises on the corner? Something relaxed and informal would be nice with a decent affordable lunch menu. TJ
Jeremy - I supose british food is just boiled beef and suet?Get out of your closed mind man! Turkish food can be a wonderfrul combination of fresh fragrant herbs and salads with tender infused meats grilled or stewed - think of a combination of greek mezze and arabic food. The pide mentioned above are a revelation.Good on you anatolia - we need achange from thai and indian.Jeremy Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Hmm... James
It's not as if we don't have enough European/steak places locally either (Franklin's, Le Chardon, Le Moulin, the Palmerston etc.) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5174-new-restaurant-on-forest-hill-road/#findComment-170527 Share on other sites
