Hello everyone. .. well today just has to be one of those days that really touched my heart by relighting my spark, boosted my own self esteem and my confidence. Three areas that are also supported by my simple treasure basket class for babies.

Georgina Hood founder and owner of PaintPots Montessori, held a peaceful workshop on how to implement treasure baskets, hueristic play and music into any montessori setting. For me it was a refresher of what I have learnt and the knowledge and understanding that I have gained in creating my own classes for babies and toddlers.

The Treasure basket class is a magnificent way of introducing natural every day items to babies to encourage independence and to support brain development. Chewing on wood for example does more for thier brain than a bit of plastic. Not only does it stimulate their drive and urges, but it allows them to make sense of what they are doing how they are doing it and the information they are acquiring through sensorial exploration. It's a class where adults are passively present to encourage our little ones first movements towards independence and security from within.

My treasure basket class runs each and every Wednesday term time only at 11am in dulwich village. And I say term time as even though it doesn't seem alot for us adults is so much more for a child for a babies growth mind and soul.

I have 8 spaces available and offering an early bird discount. So please let me know if of interest and ill book you in. It's a moment to be enjoyed not rushed so why not found out for yourself the importance of treasure basket play.

Peace and love everyone x

Hi I attend this class with my 12 month year old son and cannot recommend it highly enough. Sam is amazing with children and her class is without question the best class in the area and we have tried a few. Sam makes everyone feel welcome and allows the children to really go and explore themselves unlike the majority of classes we have been to. So pleased we have met Sam and we look forward to our weekly classes.

    • Thanks for brining this up, it is ALWAYS worth bringing up. This is our neighbourhood afterall - if we can't care about our own environs then what else should we be concerned about?  Some war far away where regular people like us won't make a jot of difference to attracts tons of cops while local kids get beat up.  It takes a cool analytical big picture head to think just how messed up this situation is.  Too much on the 90% of our lives we cannot control, too little on the 10% we can. I applaud the OP for raising this. With things like stolen bikes, broken-into parked cars, intimidated children it's worth making a report b/c more of more services are driven by stats/KPIs.  Eventually, the numbers amass.  I don't care who is stretched. Tell me someone who would say they're NOT stretched - the point is we all pay tons of tax and are deserve appropriate level of services. Would tea with a cop help? I dunno, think this needs something a bit more decisive than that.  I know there are supplementary parental patrols - worth helping them to assign their resources better by making them aware of recent trouble-spots.  Realise this was out of term-time but worth raising nonetheless.
    • Lets hope the poor lad is recovering well and these filthy violent robbers get some deserved justice sent their way sometime soon.
    • Your defence of your use of language reminds me of Johnson after England 'fans' caused trouble before, during and after the Euro 2020 final.  How ever much you loath the bloke, you have to recognise that he is a highly articulate person. Yet he descended to the language of the gutter by saying that "this lowlife should crawl under the rock they came from".  Rather than deploring their actions and saying that this behaviour did not represent what was expected in this country,  Starmer would have gone further and put them all in prison.  Thats an aside. Thanks Sue for your comment.
    • I was just trying to understand why my albeit strident description of such vile attackers, as fully described, should merit watering down. This attack wasnt, clearly in my view, some cry for help by a suppressed minority, which might be in some way excusable. It was vile and the perpetrators vile. To call my comment 'reactionary' is simply weird.
