Jessicas429
Hello,Does anyone know where an IUD Coil can be fitted locally? My baby's health visitor recommended Towley Road who've told me they don't fit them and to try camberwell sexual health clinic. I visited the camberwell clinic a while back and had a terrible experience- arriving two minutes after opening time and being 25 in the queue which took me until nearly 2pm. This appeals even less now I have two children under two in tow! Surely there must be somewhere more local that fits them? Any suggestions very welcome particularly if I can book an appointment rather than a walk in service. Many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/51188-iud-coil-fitting/ Share on other sites
patt1980
DMC have a coil fitting clinic every few weeks but think you have to be registered there. I'd have thought other gp surgeries off it too though. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/51188-iud-coil-fitting/#findComment-796650 Share on other sites
vanessa520
Walworth road and the one I think on Grange Road se1Although I don't recommend Walworth road as the doctor left a swab in me after having the coil fitted. GinaG3
A lot of GP surgeries do them, check with yours if you haven't already. They normally happen in their minor surgery clinics once a week or so. buggie
I got it at Camberwell on a pre-booked Saturday appt - definitely not appropriate to take kids along though. If you call up, they'll be able to advise you on availability/when to call to snag a good appt slot. mickeymonkey
I had an excellent experience at Camberwell having done what buggie suggested and made a Saturday appointment rather than drop in clinic Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/51188-iud-coil-fitting/#findComment-797081 Share on other sites
marinamoomin
I had one fitted in camberwell sexual health clinic too. I was advised to turn up 20 mins early and you will be one of the first so will be seen very quickly! I was 15 mins early and was number 4 in the queue. I was out within an hour, this includes time for all the checks beforehand too.Hope that helps! treehugger
I had mine fitted at Camberwell and was very pleased. The nurse was lovely and made what is not the best experience in life, quite a laugh.
