Recorder Class for Pensioners

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is a message for all those retired people who would like to form a class to re-learn to play the Recorder. It would take place at the Southwark Pensioners Centre on thursday mornings. The fee for 12 sessions would be ?48 , i.e. ?4 per class. To be viable so as not to need subsidy from the charity, we would need between 12 and 15 people to register their interest. The Centre is available to anyone over 50! There is also the possibility of reaching the stage where you could join the centre's Recorder Consort.

If you are interested please contact the Southwark Pensioner Centre either in person or on 0207 708 4556

    • You could try Celia Hammond on Lewisham Way in New Cross, but call them first.
    • i think I have seen that animal rescue charities can use old towels/sheets etc. Can anyone give me the address of one that I can donate them to - or do they collect?
    • I'd take some stool samples, keep them in the fridge, book a GPs appointment, and ask for them to be analysed. Kids are sick from time to time.  We all were.  We all are occasionally.  Unless there is a serious outbreak of a bug that can potentially hospitalise a lot of people, then public health will not get involved. For your own benefit you can always visit the cafe and check out their scores on the doors food safety rating and if they are not displaying one, question why. A few years ago there was a large e coli outbreak at the Glastonbury festival, cows graze the land and some festival goers were not being too hygienic.  A reminder to us all to wash our hands etc.  with COVID this should be second nature
