Dear Mightyroar,

My kids have Crocs, and so does the au pair - as I thought that they would assist me with my plan to dis-improve her looks. However, I also bought myself a pair as they felt so comfortable - but I tossed them in the coal hole when I remembered how damn ugly they are. I always feel a slight lift in the heel of a shoe accentuates my tiny shapely ankles.

I bought my husband a pair, as they are ideal for beach wear - by the pool/in the sand/general comfy shoe for holidays. He will be away soon, and will get good use out of them.

They can look rather sweet on kids with the cute little buttons on them to personalise them. My kids love the badges - skulls and cross bones, jewels etc.

I personally will never be seen in a pair, they are far too ugly...

My boys have them and all my friends have them but I have yet to take the plunge! They are so comfy and pretty that I wrote a whole post about them ;-) - but this still hasn't helped me to make up my mind!

I worry that short women of 5' 2" cannot get away with flat, orthopaedic shoes, no matter how pretty are!

I'm only 5ft 2" and I love my croc's!!! Bought them down in Cornwall as everyone was wearing them, and a week after returning broke my toe so they were the only thing I could wear for the week following. They are fantastic, and I don't think their too clumpy at all, even my boyfriend likes them and he can be bit funny about things like them!

Arrgh! Get thee behind me you 5' 2" Satan! And the coolest mum at the school gate had hers on this morning as well! OK - I give in; I'm going to get myself a pair. The only question is, what colour..... (heh heh).

PS: Hope the toe is healing up nicely - I last broke a toe falling out of a cab somewhat worse for the wear. OK - very worse for the wear. How embarrassing. ;-)

Darling Mr Mikewbate,

God only knows how I was dressed when I left. I arrived wearing high heels (don't you remember?) and I left in a pair of Aqua plastic shoes - I thought that you gave them to me? I was sure you left in a pair of black Emma Hope high heels... Can I have them back?

Did I do this the right way?

This says it all, I think! I always remember this clip when I spot a double three wheeled buggy (Phil & Teds), or a pair of Crocs, or a child wearing Boden in Dulwich Park, or a que outside William Rose, or etc, etc, etc...

With hard copy print declining more liberal media need support irrespective of how easy it is to pick holes.  The decline of regional and local papers has compounded the issue of so many drawing their information from the right wing/populist press, and unverified reports on social media.
