katgod
Thanks for that. logged on to TFL, followed the rail live update link, and shock - Southern web site not running. Great that they can't run a web site or a train service. ThHis is one of the things I loved about the EDF - I get the info I need straight away. boswell
No worries I had the same problem but luckly I live next to the station so just wandered over. Not sure if the situation will change later but I'm off to the park so no more updates from me for a while! SE22JAM
According to the National Rail site which appears to be reasonably accurate at the moment, Southern Trains to and from ED are now running but with delays. Pickle
Mr Pickle has just returned from a walk to Peckham Rye station (half hearted attempt to get to work), to find no trains running and staff at the station saying it's unlikely any will be running for a while yet. Pozzee
According to my husband who is working from home today - an email has just gone round his office saying that if people want to get home they should do so now. Or book into a hotel asap. Maybe they are paranoid but I thought I would pass the message on. dogkennel
From my eye in the sky over ED station I've not seen any trains pass through yet. The live departures board linked above is worth keeping tabs on, though as trains listed on there seeming to run are then cancelled at short notice it wouldn't surprise me if trains and crew are ready to start running from depots or stations but as the snow is continuing to fall lightly that rail conditions can't be guaranteed along the route, let alone access to platforms and staircases etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/5098-no-trains/#findComment-164163 Share on other sites
KidKruger
My work all went home at lunchtime, I'm the only one still here from a floor of 200+Folks are worried about not being able to get home, it figures. What's terrible is the canteen's shut and even the coffee shop.Life sure can get tough..... dogkennel
Latest ED station update - the gates to both platforms were closed when I just walked past, so I very much doubt they'd be reopened, and that's on the off chance any local trains were to start running.
