Dulwich Choral Society Performs Bach?s Christmas Oratorio at The Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Greenwich

On Saturday 6 December, Dulwich Choral Society will be performing Bach?s Christmas Oratorio at:

Venue: The Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Greenwich, London SE10

Time: 7.30pm

The concert will be a great way to start Christmas with Bach?s joyous masterpiece, performed in the splendour of Wren?s Royal Naval College Chapel. This performance presents parts 1, 2, 3 & 6, encompassing all the devotion, contemplation and jubilation of the season. Sung in German, with full texts and translations available free of charge. Dulwich Choral Society is joined by leading period-instrument ensemble Sinfonia Britannica and an outstanding line-up of soloists:

? Elin Manahan Thomas, Soprano http://www.elinmanahanthomas.org/

? Andrew Tortise, Tenor http://www.andrewtortise.com/

? Jonathan Brown, Baritone http://www.chameleon-arts-orchestra.co.uk/browse/baritones/artist/jonathan-brown/page/1

All four are outstanding singers of Bach. Elin Manahan Thomas is one of the most sought-after baroque singers with a huge international following. She has also made numerous television appearances as both presenter and soloist in series such as the Sixteen?s ?Sacred Music? with Simon Russell Beale on Channel 4.

Conductor: Aidan Oliver, who pursues a diverse career at the heart of London?s musical life, working variously as conductor, chorus master and music staff with organisations including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, and Westminster Abbey. His current positions include roles as Associate Conductor of the St Endellion Summer Festival and Conductor of Dulwich Choral Society.
