Hi We need to order our bifold doors ASAP but it all seems a bit of a minefield. We have been over to bifold express in Redhill and were really impressed but we have had cheaper quotes. Online they have mixed reviews, does anyone have any direct experience of using them, their after sales services etc?

Another contender is the folding door shop, no showroom for this one so am a little scared at handing over ?1000's for a product we haven't seen. We know we are getting schuco doors but we have heard scare stories that some firms (not directly the folding door shop)may not use all schuco parts so they can get the cost down.

Help!!! any info that might make our choice a bit easier would really help. Companies to avoid as well as recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks xx

Schuco are a well known company, but if you can't be sure that all the components are Schuco, best to avoid. The thing that goes wrong with most bi fold doors is the hanging/opening/closing mechanism. Cheap doors will eventually 'drop' and make opening/closing the doors difficult. The best systems tend to be German, personally I would go for this company...http://www.i-d-systems.co.uk/

We bought ours over 4 years ago from Yes Windows based in Biggin Hill/Westerham. They supply Sunflex doors which come from Germany and are the same as those sold by id-systems. Follow up customer service has been good, if the doors have required adjustment then they have come out pretty quickly. So far so good.

    • All good to hear. Cheers BNG If I’m honest, those fliers give off very bland corporate energy   also. Shouldn’t it be a relaunch party instead of a launch party?    hopefully I’m wrong and it’s great
    • The good news is that the Blythe's new leaseholder is Austin Whelan, who runs a chain of very decent Irish pubs, mainly in south London. By all accounts, he has no intention of making any major changes. It reopened last week.
    • A builder said that to me once! What I should have said (but thought of it too late) was that given that I was paying him to do a job, I expected that my glass would be full, not half full 🤣 But yes, you are right in this instance!
    • Just had a flyer through the door. Posting here for people who haven't had theirs yet. The 50% off food is for three days only, and advance bookings only. I liked the EDT as it used to be, so I really hope the changes won't be too massive. Last time I looked through the window the bar seemed to be still in the same place, but who knows. Think I'll wait a bit to try the food. When The Lordship launched, we went for a meal there and let's say things didn't go smoothly 😂 Anybody who was there will know what I mean 😂 They have redeemed themselves since, I hasten to add 😂
