Sorry Quids.

Liverpool have about 60 pros - but at least half of those are teenagers who haven't a chance in hell of playing Premiership football for anyone, anytime quick.

Anyway, lack of squad depth this season, was just a smokescreen to cautious tactics. Ultimately it was Liverpool who blew the Title.

We shall see what happens next season, but I'd say over the summer Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea will become significantly stronger. So hopefully not only do Liverpool bring in a few more quality players but they also cut loose next term against the lesser teams to make more draws into wins at Anfield.

What defines a proper supporter, I'm guessing you count yourself among the number of this elite?

Although what you said was tongue in cheek I do think you crossed the line with your remark about the War.

Anyway... I don't think any club can count honours won during the War simply because a system of guest players existed that could change from game to game - it's a bit like winning trophies today with players that belong to someone else rather than your own club... it tarnishes the gloss of winning. Don't you agree?

Similar with Brucie and Beglin 20 odd years ago.

Nothing much in it, one defender telling the other to concentrate.

What!? It was a joke. My father fought in World War 2, my maternal grandfather fought at the Somme in WWI. My wife's grandfather (a jewish scouser) fought in World War 2 and met his future wife, a card carrying Austrian Nazi, and came back to live in Kirby with her. I am also very well aware of the difficult lives of the people on the home front in industrial cities Like Liverpool and the hard work that was done by shipyard and dock workers in the area.

I don't REALLY think that Scousers didn't fight in the war you twonk.

I thought only Millwall fans were "proper" people, at least that's what they used to tell me when I moved to East Street Market in the middle 60's.

Yes SP I know you were only joking, hence why I said 'tongue in cheek'... but IMO some subjects should not be joked about.

I'm sorry if you're upset that we aren't bending over backwards congratulating United on winning the Title, and all this hiss about Rafa not sending a congratulatory letter to Fergie is beyond the pale when you consider the Scotsman sour reaction to Liverpool winning CL in 2005 or reaching the 2007 final.

I couldn't care less about Benitez and if he's congratulated Fergie or not, it's just funny. I expect he's already working on his list of things that life has made diffcult for him for next season. It just shows how long you've been clinging onto the "we've won 18 so are better than you" mentality and how upset you really are that we've caught up.

As far as the war goes I suppose you boycot "Allo, Allo", "Dad's Army" "Blackadder Goes Fourth (Forth?) and "Life is Beautiful" too?

Yup I think the whole Fergie / Rafa feud is quite funny. As usual it's the media who seem to think it's significant. I suppose everyone is biased but for me Fergie surpassed everything, by a country mile, with his pent up remarks on Rafa's disrespect for Big Sam. LOL.

"Life Is Beautiful" was a great movie and it did have some lighter moments... As for those comedies not really seen more than an episode due to it being crap TV so cannot really comment. Talking of War & Football, a movie I'd recommend to everyone is the German film "The Miracle of Bern" based on the true story of the eventual 1954 World Champions.

    • If you don't innately know from a human perspective  why it's not tasteful to ask 'what's the latest on the court case??' then I can't really explain it I guess. I suspect the family are finding the concept of the circumstances being hashed out in court and the papers quite distressing so although I'm sure they are touched by the support and outpouring of affection for Akif I don't think they want the private details to be a 'matter of local interest.' If people are desperate to keep up to date with the court case they can google it. It doesn't need to be discussed on a local forum. Just a bit of basic decorum and sensitivity really.
