This was a long time before my time Mick, but I'd be very interested to hear from you how great a player Kenny was up at Celtic? I guess people will say George Best or Eric Cantona was a better player but apart from that being argumentative Kenny won 3 European Cups and countless League titles in England as well as a bucket load of trophies in Scotland (when Scotland were a superior force to England) which for me makes him the outstanding number 7 in world football.

Might be worth looking closer to home first Matt- was he better than the man he replaced being kevin Keegan? He won 2 euro player of the years in a no 7 shirt. He was someone Liverpool thought they would struggle to replace and the reason they broke the uk transfer record to secure Kenny. It would be an interesting debate for Liverpool fans as Keegan was the original king of the kop.

Bob Paisley who managed both Keegan and Dalglish said, "Of all the players I have played alongside, managed and coached in more than 40 years at Anfield, he [Dalglish] is the most talented."

Legendary striker, Dixie Dean who once scored 60 top flight league goals in a season for Everton, said of Dalglish, "a wonderful player, such skill, so brave. Probably the best combination of goalscorer and goalmaker I've ever seen".

Obviously UEFA disagree with bob paisley jah lush Anna Matt etc.not many players have won 2 European player of the year awards.its just another case of the best player in the English league being automatically assumed to be the best generally. In continental Europe Keegan will have a higher standing.

That's funny Jah. He's got off the mark with Real in the form of a slagging off from the oppostion in a friendly for diving "too much". There's a shock!!!!

Jerzy Dudek has been shooting his mouth off about our Rafa, "it is not easy to negotiate with Rafa Benitez"

Although I have to say Rafa has been too diplomatic over Alonso, I can't help get the feeling that if it were anyone else but his boyhood club then Rafa would cut loose with a few barbed volleys (e.g. without Alonso no one will be able to conduct Kaka, Ronaldo, Benezma) but obviously he doesn't want to totally burn bridges if he has managerial ambitions at the Bernabeu. Having said that Spanish motormouth Guillem Ballague reckons Rafa's ultimatum of 48 hours to sign Alonso will be resented by President Florentino Perez and the sticking point could be that no one involved in the deal will 'want to lose face or to walk away with their reputation tarnished'.

More seriously celtic losing at home after 5 mins and still losing after 30.missing our 2 key midfielders with injury sounds like they are bossing middle of pitch. Could be strachan like baptism for Tony m. I'm worried now an away goal behind already.have only lost once in 35 ch league games at home and that was barca.
Yup half time score 1-0 to the Russians - maybe they should have lowered ticket prices further to get a bumper crowd with what is at stake. I think Dinamo already have 15 league games under their belt and you know they're no mugs from that league.
Bad bad bad.assumerd it would be a sell out crowd but maybe not.anyway no midfield. The rubbish Italian played well in pre season and he is simply not good enough at euro level. We have been in a few scrapes befoRe though so hope Tony can say right thing at Ht.
