You've obviously forgotten the goals against Chavski, Man Ure, Liverpool (especially in the unbeaten season when we were 2 1 down and he scored three I think it was to win us the game, but according to you he doesn't stand up to be counted when our backs are against the wall), Real Madrid, Inter Milan ( 5 -1 at their palce after we had lsot 3 - 0 at ours, but he doesn't score important goals does, idiot) ... Yes all low level opposition. Do your wear sight altering glasses or is your bias so deeeply inbedded that you just can't help spouting ballacks.

Why do you take this so personally? A number of other people have said something along the same lines, so there must be some truth in it. A couple of my friends, one an Arsenal fan has said the same thing for years.

Nevertheless you should not react as you do to another persons opinion.

Try backing you arguments with cohesive facts and don't let your loyalty to whatever team you support blind you to the sublime qualities of a truly great player. I'm guessing your not an Arsenal fan but that's neither here nor there, the guy scored when we were up against, as per examples I've quoted, on the other hand you chose to make a swweping generalistion and show off your lack of footballing knowledge.

AG is, of course, never blinded to the facts by club loyalty. He's as neutral as Des Lynham :))


It's his MO to make things personal MM, he's the quintessential angry poster, it's his schtick. He'll be calling you mug and coming up with whitty (read playground) names for your team and players forever now. ;-)

Well the man should get his facts straight and not spout bollocks and then I might accept his (non existent) point, by the way witty is spely w...i...t....t...y, so back to the class room for you sunshine. I don't support an English team Atila, but I do admire good players and I do admire Henry, just think he was over admired in general and there are others I'd have in my team before him. If he had scored against Barca in the champions league final when through and leading 1-0, I'd say that completley proved me wrong, but he fluffed his big chance to win Arsenal the trophy that remains missing from their cabinet.


Maybe this is time for us to pick our all time best 11s - (he won't be in mine) - I'll do mine at lunchtime.

I have about as much interest in your comments/thoughts as I have in the progress of Spurs. You are as far as I'm concerned a footballing ignoramus and as such you can name who you like in top 10, 11,50,1000 I don't give a monkeys

Well they don't come much more important than games against Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea - he scored 24 Premiership goals against those three. Whereas Cantona only ever scored one League goal against Liverpool (and that a penalty).

Well if you're going to nit pick over supposed flaws in Henry (which I don't agree with btw and I'm a neutral in regard Henry) then where the hell do we start with Cantona!? Cantona's legacy, rightly or wrongly, is his cowardly attack on a loud mouth Palace fan, half his size, in the family stand at Selhurst Park.

What exactly did Eric Cantona do... oh I know he sold lots of French flags outside Old Trafford before Argentina came into fashion. Ah that's right he trained in the afternoon and that is what inspired the United youth to practice their football rather than shoot pool with a beer.. Legend!


Of course I've been unfair on Cantona, he was a top player, but what do you expect when you treat a genuine footballing legend like Henry as if he was a two bit player.

Seriously, is snyone interested in having another Football thread for the Premierhip where we dicuss football, with maybe an occasional bit of banter, but escape from the incessant childish crap on this one? Anyone else?


This one can stay obviously for the tedious and endless Manu/Liverpool tirades and that unbelievable that hes over 40 something schoolboy gooner bloke

I would be Quids. I'd still mention Liverpool, but more about how they got on in their game last Saturday, rather than "my team is better than your team", or "sir, sir, he said something nasty to me" (after I'd wound him up).


F*cks sake, Henry and Cantona, both jolly good players. Who was best, is in the eye of the beholder.


I, for example, would have Robbie Fowler ( circa '95 / '95) in my dream 11, and am sure many people would tell me I could pick better strikers, but I like him, so there.

Yeah right.. and Sky Sports will dedicate their March / April run in to those chasing UEFA Cup spots ;-)


It's not about the Big 4, otherwise we'd be talking a hell of a lot more about Chelsea... as I've said before I quite like hearing from West Ham and Spurs fans as after all they're pretty big clubs as well.. but we can only be driven by the discussion. I'm open to discussing other clubs players.


BTW, yes read about John Hartson and it don't look good does it for the former Wales, Luton, Arsenal, West Ham, Celtic man but we can only hope he recovers from his cancer which has spread to his brain.

Surely we can discuss players / heroes of the premiership on this thread - its all football and premiership related - but I don't understand people getting so personal, no matter how much you hold your team dear, you should be able to keep to light hearted banter.


Now don't anyone even think of slagging off Henrik Larsson. I would not take kindly to that.(6)
