Otta
It's the first impression you get of a band when you hear their debut album. It can grab you or you can go "meh".What has grabbed you?Being as it's the song that gave me the idea for the thread (think I've done this on facebook before, but don't THINK it's been done on here) I'll start with...(best played loud)Love the bass line. aquarius moon
Great track Otta but preferred 'All these things that I've done' & 'Mr Brightside' on that particular album.Agree about first impressions grabbing you though. I think I was hooked after hearing one of their tracks on the radio before I even heard any of their albums. Otta
And this one, whilst not typical of the rest of the (very good) album, it certainly got my attention! El Pibe
I stumbled upon this song via a label sampler before the album came out, but it turned out to be the opener, huzzah.Great video incidentally.although debut _and_ final album, clearly noone else liked them :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/50243-best-debut-album-opening-track/#findComment-790026 Share on other sites
El Pibe
Blitzen Trapper's marvellously spiky take on wilcoesque alt country/rock. Major Label Debut.Does it count if their previous albums were self released and nobody could actually get hold of them until very recently? adonirum
steveo....at last someone else who remembers/have heard of Montrose and not just the vocalist Sammy Hagar. Shame Ronnie Montrose died relatively young, but prostate cancer claims far to many.Surely Black Sabbath on Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath has to be an all time candidate, setting the standard for most (all) that came after it in that genre Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/50243-best-debut-album-opening-track/#findComment-790139 Share on other sites
