ladida
Bearing in mind that the Tardis can't 'beam' anything up as in Star Trek how do all the materials in it get there? Surely all the kit must get in through the front two doors. The logistics of this feet must be mind-blowing: the concrete pouring, steels, massive hardware, etc, etc, etc. All this through those two doors at the front? Alan Medic
I think that about our home. I've had to introduce a rule that anything you take in anymore, we get rid of something equal in size. ruffers
The Tardis operates in many dimensions, the door only limits those who operate in our normal everyday three. Robert Poste's Child
Aren't the inside and the outside in different dimensions? The exterior is supposed to be just a disguise, a way of fitting in with the local environment, so it won't attract attention, so maybe it doesn't exist outside the beholder's perception.I'm seeing my nephew tomorrow and Dr Who is his mastermind subject so I'll ask him. Loz
Different dimensions. I think, if I remember correctly, the doctor once explained the 'bigger on the inside' thing by holding up a small object that seemed much bigger than a much larger, further away object, showing that it was all 'relative' (i.e. the 'r' of TARDIS).Or, as Father Ted did with cows, "Small. Far away". :o) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/49882-a-doctor-whothingquestion/#findComment-787139 Share on other sites
TheArtfulDogger
Oh dearObviously not a born in the womb die hard Doctor Who fan thenIf you saw earlier episodes where the Tardis materialised around someone thus saving them from a threat, then you would have obviously put two and two together to understand that the Tardis can therefore do the same trick around Jewsons to pick up all the building materials they need The more disturbing question to ask is where are the loos on the Tardis ? Not once does the Doctor land, say it's obviously the cybermen or Daleks and then let a little fear escape from his bottom before rushing off to relieve himself then save the universe Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/49882-a-doctor-whothingquestion/#findComment-787165 Share on other sites
JohnL
Tardis is alive and can change and grow - to reflect the Doctor - I thought :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/49882-a-doctor-whothingquestion/#findComment-787173 Share on other sites
Otta
I don't watch Dr Who, but three separate fans have said to me they think the new series is shit. What are others thinking?Note: They seem to be saying it's more to do with the story than any failing of the new Doc. JohnL
I like the new DrHe's bad tempered and rude. The storylines aren't really the point IMHO Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/49882-a-doctor-whothingquestion/#findComment-787190 Share on other sites

But, from my experience, there has always been a subset of Dr Who fans that think that the most current series is crap. Otta
Don't think the people I'm talking about would fit that category, they're not hardcore. And the timescale you describe pretty much fits when I spoke to them.I've always wanted to like it, but just never have really. The David Tennant / Billie Piper / Darlik / Cybermen thing was cool though. RosieH
Otta, you're a massive loser. Dr Who is awesome. If you can't find it in your tiny mind to like it, then your heart must be shrivelled like last year's festive walnut down the back of the sofa.
