Due to this topic being excessively long, a new 2024 "New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham" has been opened here. Please continue the discussion there.

Agreed re the number of pizza places... But that's no reason not to try this one if you're in the area. Last night I stumbled upon it as other options in that stretch are closed on Mondays. Glad I did, the pizza was very tasty and I had an interesting chat / pizza oven tour by Nic afterwards!

It was open on and off, at least as a deli which also sold coffee and sandwiches, though sadly it never became the fully fledged restaurant I think they had plans for.

Do you know what sort of clothes shop, Nigello? I'm hoping not mega expensive designer, but I'm not holding my breath!

Anyone know of any plans for the shops in a row next to William Rose?

The unit directly next to the butchers looks like its being worked on. Then next to that you have the laundrette that has now closed down. Then an Indian thats still open but i've never seen any punters in, then last in the row is the Irish shop which hasn't been open for donkeys

Some prime sites there to be had

I didnt ask is anyone had noticed. I asked if anyone knew if there were any plans for the units

Sarky dickhead

I too would like to know the plans for this stretch. Interesting to note a new planning application has been re-submitted for the Londis unit on north cross/lordship corner. Worth a visit to the planning portal if you haven't already. If Londis are forced out due to some fancy chain restaurant coming in, I'd like to think they could relocate to another unit locally. A lot of us find Londis very useful.

Louisa.

The cinema is going to expand into the Irish shop space,

The building next to William Rose was sold last year. Its fire damaged but I believe the main plan is to turn the upper portion into flats. No idea if the developer has already found a lease for the ground floor shop unit.

I think there is a planning application out for the laundrette. I can't remember the exact street address but if you know it, you can look it up on Southark's planning portal.

Dear All

its amazing to see the speculation about the former Le Moulin.

it has been a very long and hard redevelopment of the building itself from the basement up as at one point you could see the sky , with lots of blood sweat and tears and a great effort going into the venue we are finalising many little final but important points before we open at 377 Lordship lane next door to The Plough Pub.

if you google the name of Victus & Bibo you will find a great deal of information about us and style of food we offer without giving too much away as it will be obviously worlds apart from our usual but offering snippets of this and of course in a different environment.

watch this space!!!

we are local and we look forward to seeing you all within the next couple of months once we open.

Thanks

Victus & Bibo

There's now a sign on the boarded up Mrs Robinsons unit saying it'll be a Mons cheesemongers (their first dedicated shop). Cheese fiends: rejoice. People who miss Iceland: despair.

Plus, technically not new, but Organic Village Market opposite EDT has been renovated, now has an organic butcher's counter out back. Perfect for when you fancy a grass-fed steak at 2am.

The bank is going to become a Neighborhood Veterinary Surgery.

I think according to the Southwark planning portal, John Barnett is being given a refurb and extension? Sure I read that somewhere.

Interesting. At least one application on Lordship Lane has been refused on the grounds that a change of use (A1 to A3) "would increase the number of non-retail uses to an unacceptable level resulting in material harm to the retail character and vitality of the shopping parade".
