Not when your sat on the toilet or puking for several days after eating it because dangerous bacteria hasn't been killed off during the cooking process. Also it's a matter of opinion, I don't personally enjoy the taste of undercooked mincemeat, unlike steak for example which consistency wise is very different (to me anyway).

Steak Tartare

Titch steak tartare is basically a raw burger patty,Mitch seasoning and spices. It isn't appealing to me in the slightest. My point was more referring to cuts of beef (in particular), being cooked with any bacteria residing on the outside being killed off in a searing process, unlike with minced up beef which may have bacteria which cannot be killed if it is undercooked because the bacteria may be residing on the inside away from any heat.

Jeremy I have not made my mind up about the food, and what's wrong with having a well done burger? Isn't that how burger should always be served?

Louisa.

Sounds like you need to actually read the document you posted properly.

Specifically the bit where it explains how well-sourced meat going into burgers can be cooked perfectly safely and yet be pink in the middle - following a few simple guidelines.

Bearing in mind burgers are the only thing ML does, they've probably got this covered.

Steak Tatare should only me made from VERY fresh ground beef that has been prepared under stringent helth and saftey conditions.

The meat should come one animal..

Using minced beef in any burger that is not cooked through or has been left standing for some time is dangerous.

I was told in one place on L.L. Which I will not name. That once a burger has been 'Well Done' If it comes back

they cannot use it and it gets thrown away. Whereas an under cooked burger can always be put back on the grill.

Well sourced minced meat, coming from ONE animal and stored at a specific temperature and not contaminated by other meat products CAN be served medium/rare if it means specific guidelines regarding heat exposure during the cooking process which can limit bacteria to less than 10 per however many grams of meat. It still isn't 100% full proof, and I think most restaurants now warn you before serving up undercooked ground mince.

I know what you are refering too.. But I did enjoy my food.

The meal was small. I did not have Popadoms.. or a Starter.. and did not finish the whole meal.

But I enjoyed very much what I had..

I'd spent all day working / painting so had not cooked or eaten and was hungry..

It was nice to have something put in front of me..

It was a rare treat..

Which restaurants offer 100% foolproof food again? I missed that list.

To quote from the ML menu and website: "OUR BURGERS ARE COOKED SLIGHTLY PINK, PLEASE INFORM YOUR BURGERETTE IF YOU PREFER YOUR MEAT WELL DONE"

What are you complaining about-- you can have it well done if you want (its one of the options even when ordering from Deliveroo). They give people choice, which is what life is all about.

Foxy, I think you mean well done treat.

Oh, that's a shame, as I enjoyed the food I had at the Sylvan Post, their sister restaurant.

If you take a bit of nice quality beef, mince it, form it

into a burger and then cook it - It can't be that dangerous.

Anyway depends on personal stomach I suppose.

So after the initial application rumours, restaurant and cocktail bar chain 'Turtle Bay' have put an application in with Southwark to turn the current furniture shop on the corner of Rye Lane and Bournemouth RD in Peckham into a branch of one of their lively restaurants. Famous for their cocktails served from a centre piece island bar, this is the kind of place Peckham needs for everyone to get something from this renaissance period.

It's going to be housed in part of the former Holdrons Department store buildings. Ground floor level I believe.

Apologies for being pedantic, but they're not really restaurants... just pubs in the (now rather large) Antic chain. The food in all of them is a bit different.
