It goes to their answering machine, but as soon as I try to leave a message I get cut off.

Not sure if you've sorted this but I've had it happen before - the phone number is only ever a voicemail service (I've never had them pickup) and when their message system is full it just cuts you off! You could try calling the surgery perhaps.

Ah, thank you - that would make sense. I had my last child with them and didn't have any problems with the message system before.

I'll call the surgery to double check.

Yes, it's really hard to get through to their landline. Call surgery and ask to be put through or if all else fails call their pager number!
