Armagh01
Hi All,Not sure if this is the right place for a recommendation but - unfortunately after having my lovely son last year I experienced quite bad post natal depression. I took (and take) anti-depressants for this but found that I needed talking therapies to work through what was going on in my mind. I was referred to the IAPT service at the Maudsley but the waiting list was very long and in the end I decided that I needed help sooner than they could provide so decided to pay for private psychology sessions. And fortunately I found Dr Christing Langhoff of Dulwich Psychologist who is based on Lordship Lane. She was incredibly professional yet understanding. I was able to take my son to sessions which also helped reassure me that my son and I were bonding as expected. Also my son ADORED Dr Langhoff which helped too! And as a mother herself she was able to understand a lot of my concerns and experiences. If anyone else is experiencing PND and feels that talking therapies would be beneficial for them I would recommend considering Dr Langhoff. Feel free to PM me for any more details.Apolgies if this is in the wrong area. dulwichpsychology
Thank you so much for your recommendation and your kind words! I am passionate about the work I do and I enjoy supporting mothers in the antenatal and postnatal period. An added bonus for me are all the lovely babies who often accompany their mothers! I continue to provide a specialist perinatal service within my private practice in East Dulwich and I have appointments available again following the birth of my second child. I am a member of the Faculty of Perinatal Psychology (British Psychological Society) and the therapies I provide are evidence based. There is plenty of information on my website: www.dulwichpsychologist.co.ukI can be contacted on 07816 382810 or by E-mail: [email protected]In some cases I am able to offer a concession for sessions during the postnatal period.
