Velux Balcony Windows, anyone got one?

Hi,

Sorry for such a random thread but with so many loft extensions going on i though someone might have tried these new windows.

I was definitely going to install one but one of the loft guys said not to buy one as they are not very sturdy. Has anyone tried them and if so would you recommend them?

i have some velux.

they let light in, they stop heat going out. pertty much windows in that respect i guess.

they do the job well :)

El Pibe - the OP was referring to a particular type of Velux window that when open forms a balcony. We considered these when doing our loft conversion, but in the end went for standard Veluxes.

Thanks for the replys, we went for large normal velux in the end as our kids are sill young and the balcony thing felt a bit dangerous, esp as our views are not that good!.
