This Sunday (7th September) from 2-5:30 pm we will open our garden at 24 Grove Park, SE5 8LH in aid of the National Gardens Scheme. They say

An exotic garden full of the exuberance of late summer inspired by travel in Southeast Asia. A jungle of big leafed plants, bold colours and shapes including bananas, dahlias and tetrapanax. Huge ?secret? garden gives the garden unexpected size with ponds, bee hives, sunken terrace, productive area and greenhouse of carnivorous plants. Featured on BBC Gardeners World and in the Independent. 24 Grove Park, Adm ?3.50, chd free

Also available is:

- Lots of lots of cake

- Some plants for sale

- Honey from the bees in the garden

  I have no information on that. I'd imagine GALA would be happy to advise you direct. I am interested to know what happened at the consultation meeting a few days ago and am hoping that someone from FOPRP can share. The concern is that it is proposed to extend the event footprint and timeframe. If successful, this could set precedent for further extensions and for other events organisers to bid for slots throughout summer, in a scenario similar to what has happened at Brockwell Park. This is not a flight of fancy, Cllr Catherine Rose has stated intention to monetise parkland.
