El Pibe
opening a bottle of wine tends to result in a musty head the next day, whereas you can have one or two bottles and be clear as a daisy the next day.Or is that clean as a bell? copleston_charlie
St Austell brewery, Proper Job is a favourite of mine. Again, more votes for the Brixton and Kernal beers. As Jeremy says above the main shop on Bellenden Road has considerably upped their game and you'll find a fair few of the Bossman favourites there, but a substantial chunk cheaper. But Bosssman is like an aladdins cave of beer. Fantastic place. david_carnell
The General Store on Bellenden Road now has a license and is also stocking craft beers from Partizan, Kernal and other local breweries. BrandNewGuy
It's worth a quick Saturday morning dash over to the Kernel Brewery in Bermondsey on a Saturday to pick up a couple of cases - much the cheapest way of doing it. jenf
Resurrecting an older thread, but I thought you fine beer lovers may be interested to know that our beer shop, Hop Burns & Black, will be opening in a few weeks just down the road from the Flying Pig on East Dulwich Rd (next door to Balfe's Bikes on the same parade of shops). We'll have more than 250 beers, plus wine and cider (and a huge range of hot sauce too, in case you like some heat with your hops...). Hope you'll pop in - and yes, we'll have Thornbridge! jenf
We have a website but it's a holding page at the mo while the proper job is being finished off. As for a product list, we've got amazing* beers from all over the place - US, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia and New Zealand to name a few, not to mention the incredible stuff being produced in London town and further afield in these fair isles. We'll also have a counter-pressure filling machine where you'll be able to choose from a range of kegs to fill reusable bottles (some say growlers but we have dirty minds so we're going with flagons) with delicious fresh beer. * We can vouch for their amazingness, we've been taste-testing them over the past few months in the name of "research" - it's a hard job but someone has to, etc etc... ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/page/2/#findComment-794092 Share on other sites

Earl Aelfheah
I think it's fair enough to use this thread. It's about beer more than Boss man. jenf
Hi Titch Juicy, certainly no intention to do any hijacking but I've been following this conversation for a while as it seems to be the best discussion of craft beer currently on the EDF so thought our news may be of interest, particularly as many different craft beer outlets in the area are mentioned. It's really exciting how much is out there - so much great beer to be enjoyed. Jeremy
jenf (and Bossman), if I was in your shoes I'd stock as many local beers as possible (Brick, Clarkshaws, Brockley, etc). IMO a nice big box of local beers makes a great xmas present! jenf
Great minds, Jeremy! We have a special section dedicated solely to celebrating the beers of the great South East - the Bricks, the Brockleys, the Bear Hugs, the Clarkshaws and more (very exciting stuff happening a bit further afield in the likes of Bermondsey and Gipsy Hill too, and new breweries seem to be popping up on a near-daily basis). And in further proof of that great minds thing, we have all sorts of fun plans for Xmas packs... stay tuned. :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/page/2/#findComment-794195 Share on other sites

david_carnell
Will you be stocking many interesting stouts/porters? At this time of year as the nights draw in a hoppy IPA doesn't really work for me. I want something dark and malty. The Titanic Brewery's stout is a thing of joy.
