Jocky
I went into Bossman to check their selection out and I have to say - their beer range is legendary! My fave is without a doubt is Argentina's Quilmes. Can anybody recommend some other good ones to try? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/ Share on other sites
Horsebox
Quilmes is probably one of their more pedestrian offerings.I can recommend trying any beer from one of the newish London breweries:Kernel, Brixton, Beavertown (owned by Robert Plant's son). Beavertown's Gamma ray IPA OR the Black Betty black IPA are particularly good.Otherwise, just try every bottle on offer until you find your favourites :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/#findComment-773084 Share on other sites

Dopamine1979
The Brixton one is good. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/#findComment-773087 Share on other sites
Earl Aelfheah
I really like the uberlocal Brick Brewery's Pioneer Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/#findComment-773088 Share on other sites
Earl Aelfheah
Some of Brixton's IPAs I just find too heavily hopped (although I know this is the fashion nowadays). Jeremy
Not sure who sells Thornbridge locally - Ocado carry some of their beers though, at a reasonable price.Bossman is good... but a bit overpriced IMO. But useful to have it there to tide you over between Ocado deliveries. The costcutter (or whatever it calls itself now) on Bellenden Rd actually has a good selection too.I actually think Pioneer is a little under-hopped for an American IPA! But a nice beer, and only ?2.50 in their on-site bar. Earl Aelfheah
It is lightly hopped for an American IPA, that's fair - but I think that's why I like it. I find a lot of them just too much (The Brixton - Electric Avenue I think it's called - is just hard to drink. Earl Aelfheah
Bossman is expensive, but we're lucky to have somewhere selling such a wide selection on the Lane. Horsebox
SJ & Jeremy, I asked Cameron from Bossman about Thornbridge beers, they used to stock Jaipur but it didn't sell well enough to keep it as a regular line, though he did promise to get some in for me. Their Gamma Ray is indeed great. It was ?2.50 for 2/3 pints, ?2.50 for all bottles and ?2.50 for all cans.I think I met the boss there on Saturday, which I guess must've been Plant Jnr.it was rather a good day out; decent grub, excellent beer and the Rough Trade DJs. *Bob*
If you buy a decent amount they'll give you 10% discount, which sweetens the price. It's a high street shop - so it's going to cost more than online obvs, but for all the usual reasons I'm going to support a local shop which sells something I want - even if it does cost a few quid more. They've delivered orders to me at home too.. Though I'm not sure if this is standard practice. If I were them I would consider promoting a discounted bulk order with home delivery. I'd use it for sure. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/47855-best-beer-from-bossman/#findComment-773134 Share on other sites
