ibilly99
Evening peeps I love this song in fact I love it so much I?ve just got greedy and combined 10 versions into a single take. I hope all your favourites are there including the very latest X-factor winner Alexandra Burke. If you like it please leave a comment and give me stars! Another ibilly99 mashup for Christmas.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Pdw4oTMRAkw Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4782-hallelujah-all-the-versions-in-one/ Share on other sites
Brendan
I?m normally one of those dickhead music snobs who always has something to say about songs just to prove he?s too cool for school. Like:?You had to have heard so-n-so?s version that only 5 people ever heard because it?s the best purely for its obscurity...?Or ?wassisname did it best in ?68 when she used the thingymabob through the magafter and so-n-so produced it.?And ?you can?t possibly like that coz it was on some television programme...?etc. etc. I inhabit a sad little world. But Hallelujah is a song that was truly inspired. In a way it?s an ode to music itself. It sounds amazing even on reality TV. Fuck, Barney the Dinosaur could do a version of it and I would like it. Sue
WHERE'S RUFUS WAINWRIGHT'S VERSION????!!!!????!!!!Best by far in my opinion, and I don't even like Rufus Wainwright much apart from Hallelujah! Sue
Yeh OK, that definitely wins hands down, I'll have that at my funeral instead of the Rufus Wainwright one - or maybe both, they could probably do with a laugh by that point :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4782-hallelujah-all-the-versions-in-one/#findComment-154557 Share on other sites

Keef
Good job, couple of versions in there I'd not heard before. I am still a Jeff Buckley man though, probably because it was the version that I heard first, so to me it is kind of the original, even though it clearly isn't. SeanMacGabhann
Which remindes me, I have a video of Keef playing Hallelujah knocking around somewhere - and very fine it is too. Keef's version... not the shaky video Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4782-hallelujah-all-the-versions-in-one/#findComment-154581 Share on other sites

Keef
Where was it from? I don't mind you posting it, I just hope the sound is okay, often with mobile phone clips, the singing sounds a lot louder than it should do. Keef
That brings back memories, the amount of times I've sang the bloody hallelujah chorus!Interesting fact, the first performance of the Messiah was in Dublin. Brendan
Here is some profound insight into the cryptic imagery in the song: http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-%26-entertainment/song-everyone-pretends-to-understand-is-christmas-number-one-200812221474/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4782-hallelujah-all-the-versions-in-one/#findComment-154632 Share on other sites
Moos
Keef Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> That brings back memories, the amount of times> I've sang the bloody hallelujah chorus!Me too, but I still love it. Best saved for the end of a performance so you can really belt it out and not worry about singing well afterwards......AND LORD OF LORDS!! Cue lots of red faces and squawking.
