RosieH
to do jazz hands to myself as I walk home of an evening listening to Sir Duke on the ipod?ANDdoes it mark me out as a prime candidate for a mugging? (on account of probable inebriation and handy garotting instrument at the ready)ORmark me as a grade A mental to be avoided at all costs? Brendan
I quite often skip from the bus stop to my house after work. Skipping is very liberating. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4773-is-it-wrong/#findComment-154216 Share on other sites
RosieH
Skipping is great.I was once busted on the treadmill at the gym doing a lasso motion to Rhinestone Cowboy. Liberating, but mildly shameful. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4773-is-it-wrong/#findComment-154217 Share on other sites
Brendan
Unwittingly singing along to one?s ipod on the train. Now that?s embarrassing. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4773-is-it-wrong/#findComment-154220 Share on other sites
mockney piers
and how did Rhinestone Cowboy cope? Did he blush or did he unwittingly shout "YEE HAAH"? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4773-is-it-wrong/#findComment-154222 Share on other sites
Keef
I have a couple of "games" I've played whilst walking down the street since I was a kid, and still find myself doing it. One is where a car can only pass you between parked cars, if it passes whilst you're behind a parked car, you lose a life. I can often be seen suddenly jogging a couple of steps to "get to safety".Oh dear. Hannah6_6
I think it's great Rosie, I love seeing people skipping or singing along. I definitely catch myself doing it sometimes, I often laugh out loud to myself too. Keef - I still try not to step on the cracks... Keef
Jah, I know for a fact I have OCD when it comes to certain things. I am not for example, the tidiest person in the world. However, if certain things are not in their place, I can't relax til I've sorted it! Old uni mates used to change little things around in my room at halls when I went off to the loo, and then watch me sqirm when I got back. Bellenden Belle
I regularly have lengthy conversations with no one in particular as I walk around. I kid myself I have perfected this without moving my lips too much. Does everyone do this? lozzyloz
As an avid Beezer reader I used to walk around imagining the Numbskulls were in my head sending messages to operate the mechanism that makes me walk. Made the journey to school in the morning a little less dull. hibbs
Ha ha Keef excellent - I still avoid the 3 drain cover thang, its amazing what stays with you from your school days.RosieH I think its a fine thing to do making Jazz hands as you walk along, if it makes you happy, its guaranteed to make others smile... Jimbob
doing jazz hands as you walk along will not mark you down as a candidate for mugging, quite the opposite i would suggest. HonaloochieB
It's the Tom Wolfe theory of urban survival. He parades around in white suits, cane and a fancy hat and has been along various 'mean streets', his theory is that the more you look different in a rough part of town, the less likely the local ruffians will be able to process exactly why you're choosing to do it. They then leave you well alone.Apparently it's worked for him, so you carry on Rosie, more power to the elbows your jazz hands are attached to. Bellenden Belle
Take your hands into a position of an open clap - palms facing the audience (and darling one must have an audience), usually your upper arms will be close to your body (allowing you to extend during your big finale) then shimmer your hands from the wrist. Think Liza, think Al Johnson, think "omigod how fabulous darling am I?"And smile. As if your life depended on it. Easy.Next up - the timestep.
