KidKruger
The deal's still to be made but yeah it appears close. It'll still be the biggest fight, money-wise, in history. The endless speculation in the columns and the fever pitch it reaches at times like this are a bit tiresome though !Just make the darned fight and get them in the ring - albeit 5 or 6 years too late. I think it has less meaning now than it would have had previously, so the hysteria is probably more a collective cry of relief than actually deserved..Wilder fights Stiverne on Saturday so the USA could finally have a world champ - heaven knows they're crying out for one !! On ability, I fancy Stiverne (hopefully in (5-6) but Wilder does seem to set-up the right-hand windmill by blinding you with the left. Otta
It's looking likely, but I'll believe it when I see it after so many false dawns.Early prediction is Mayweather to win it quite easily. Wouldn't have said that had the fight happened 4 years ago when it should have. KidKruger
Wilder's WBC champ.Stiverne could have moved his head a bit and not taken so much punishment, man he's got a solid chin.I guess now it's 2x 6ft6+ guys fighting for all the titles... KidKruger
Looks like it's now official - Floyd's posted a photo of the signed contract.Weight limit 147.Not sure if Floyd's 147 title is on the line, but with something like $100m a piece at stake, it's almost irrelevant. Otta
Right, we need to find somewhere to watch this. I'd be happy to chip in to a PPV, but can't offer my place as a venue. KidKruger
We could use my pad as I've BoxNation, problem is I'll be on IOW !If I can switch weekends (my weekends, not asking Floyd to switch his weekends for me !) then happy to host.Pubs unlikely to show it cos it's West coast hrs - card probably starts around 1am ! david_carnell
Martin Murray hanging on against the machine Golovkin. He was done twice in round 4 but has clung on. Can he survive and be the first to go the distance with the kazak? david_carnell
Is there a hint Golovkin is tiring?! Murray is beginning to work his way back in but way down on points. Could he do a Hatton v Kosta Tzu? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4760-one-for-the-boxing-fans/page/43/#findComment-825254 Share on other sites

KidKruger
Bollox.Am away from TV but have www.For some reason couldn't watch channel 5 via laptop, nor via dodgy line streams, so resorted written updates on boxing sites.GGG is the MW 'good boy'. KidKruger
'Good boy' ?When GGG was interviewed the last few years, especially early on, he always whilst showing respect to past and future prospective opponents said they were a 'good boy'.Probably as a result of his limited English. Otta
This was quite interesting about Gennady Golovkin earlier in the week.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/31316042 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4760-one-for-the-boxing-fans/page/43/#findComment-825292 Share on other sites
KidKruger
Basically the other 'champs' in his division should be ashamed of themselves - Cotto should face him or go back to LMW, Quillin vacated rather than face Koborov and had nothing to say when Golovkin's name was mentioned. Andy Lee says he's interested but don't they all - he's more likely to face Saunders in Ireland. The established boxers flapping their gums about GGG not having proven himself are increasingly in need of better strategies to not fight him.The whole situation is a sad symptom of the multi-belt charade called international boxing. david_carnell
Another big weekend for British boxing and boxers.Carl Frampton fights on terrestial TV!Tyson Fury aims to step closer to a career defining fight against Wlad or Wilder. Predictions?Anything interesting on the undercards? Otta
I'll be interested to see how Chris Eubank Jr v Dmitry Chudinov (WBA 'interim' middleweight) works out after Eubank's defeat last time out.I don't know much about Frampton or Fury's opponents, but expect Fury to win easily against some journeyman. Feels like Fury has been around forever and never really had a proper fight. Shame the David Haye thing never happened as that would have been a proper test. david_carnell
Is Eubank on the Fury undercard? Or the Frampton one?I'm wondering if I can watch both or if they'll clash. Typical. Otta
Fury. He's always on the Fury channel 5 cards, usually the fight before the main event. And usually a better fight than the main event. Otta
I meant to post this the other day, quite a good piece on the state of boxing and why lots of the fights we want never get made.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/31133135Comments at the bottom all seem to be agreeing that it will be a disappointing fight ending in points win for FM. KidKruger
someone told me that tickets for the big fight are $100,000 each.I haven't had chance to check but surely that can't be true ?Not sure who wins Carl Frampton's contest, I don't know the other guy at all (and am also reliably shite on predictions). Unfortunately I'll be in the country again relying on wifi so don't expect to be able to access ITV4 - saw the fight advertised whilst in the Castle last night.Jean Pascal is fighting Kovalev soon I read, The way Froch handled Pascal some years ago you'd expect Kovalev to do the business. Jeremy
The tickets currently being offered are not official... they're via shady brokers. But they range from ?3K to ?16K for ringside. KidKruger
Wow - that's a lot if dough.I wonder how that rates against other contests, or even top-tier events in other sports like Wimbledon.
