Enjoyed the Galahad fight, and thought Kid deserved to win. But was it luck or skill how he managed to miss all of the big swings from the scouse chap?

He's from the Ingle gym in Sheffield, where Prince Naseem came from, so big emphasis on not being hit.

Kid Galahad is now 3rd best UK Bantamweight, after Scott Quigg (who retired Rendall Munroe, the binman) and Carl Frampton (trained by Barry McGuigan). Scott v Carl is an overdue fight - THAT will be barnstormer, trouble is they both have aspirations at world level so may not face each other just yet as they follow their own paths to the top.

So... less than two weeks until Haye/Fury. Still think Haye should win and make Fury look clumsy in the process, but Fury's size and aggression do make this interesting at least. Scott Quigg on the undercard should be entertaining too. I wonder if The Rose will be showing this one?

I'm hoping to watch the Haye Fury fight, think it should be a good tear up with Fury leaning and Haye picking him off.

My money is definitely on Haye, although I do think he could get caught if he's not on his game.

The thing is, it won't be a cagey fight like Valuev or Wlad. Fury will get in close and put pressure on Haye (before getting knocked out).

Carl Froch, good as he is, really is a knob. Unlikely as it is, I'd love Groves to beat him!

Carl Froch believes his status as a "massive international superstar" is the reason for impressive ticket sales for his bout against George Groves.

Twenty thousand tickets for the fight in Manchester on 23 November sold out in 11 minutes.

Froch will defend his WBA and IBF super-middleweight belts and has made no secret of his dislike for Groves.

"Boxing, unfortunately for him, is all about levels and I'm in a totally different league," Froch said.

"I've become a massive international superstar. I don't know about 'us two', it's all about me really. If George Groves was fighting somebody else, I don't think he'd have sold out this arena in 10 minutes."

The Nottingham-based boxer, 36, was angered by Groves sparring with Mikkel Kessler ahead of his fight with the Dane in May.

He feels that defeat to Groves, who is unbeaten in 19 fights, could be the end of his career.

Froch added: "I cannot see this fight going the distance.

"Trust me, believe me: this fight is ending by KO. I am knocking out George Groves - in style.

"I've got no respect for George Groves as a person. He's not shown the champion, me, a four-time world champion, the respect I deserve. He's talked very disrespectfully to me."

Groves, 25, maintains he is ready to make the step up in quality against Froch and insists he did nothing wrong in sparring with Kessler.

The London-based fighter was on the undercard of that Froch-Kessler fight and knocked out Uruguay's Noe Gonzalez Alcoba to become the mandatory challenger to Froch's IBF title.

He said: "It's a step up, but it's one that I'm more than ready for.

"I've only boxed maybe one other fighter as experienced as Carl Froch but he isn't going to get any better and I'm more than enough to beat him, and that's what I plan to do.

"It's typical Froch with his superiority complex, [to think] how dare someone go and help the guy he's fighting.

"I think Froch - knowing that somewhere down the line, we could end up meeting - was trying to paint me to be the bad guy and unpatriotic. Fight fans in the know were pulling his argument apart."

Froch can be a nob you're right but I agree that Groves couldn't have sold out the stadium in 11mins, no matter who he was fighting.

Absolutely Groves wouldn't have sold it out had he not been fighting Froch, but I bet a lot of the people that rushed to buy tickets will be hoping to see Froch get knocked out! (not that I think he will, but I do hope so.

Froch should just let his boxing do the talking and shut the fuck up because he can't talk the talk and just sounds like a tool.

Well, Froch IS a warrior - proven it time and time again.

I genuinely can only think of only 3-4 internationally known boxers that could claim that (I mean those who've consistently travelled).

Thing is, boxers aren't usually academics with amazing public speaking powers (having said that, does Cleverly the maths graduate, speak any more eloquently than Froch, really ?). But yes, if you can't talk much sense in front of TV cameras, then STFU.

Jeremy - looks like Froch has 'updated his status' to "massive international superstar". So perhaps I'm wrong, and he's NOT a warrior (any more).

Back in the day, he always used to mention his buy-to-let properties in interviews, and how he does the tiling himself. He comes across as quite a strange guy. A great fighter to watch, though.

Yep, bit surprised the fight is even happening. I like the look of Grooves but this step up is surely way too big.

It's premature for Groves, though a great opportunity for him - win and he's jumped to a world title (though not world level, IMO), lose and he's only lost to 2nd best SMW in the world which is no shame so early in his career. Either way he makes more than ever before by many multiples. It's about the cash for them both.

I remember Froch mentioning his let properties and doing his tiling, what he's basically saying is he's trying to keep his head screwed-on, invest what he earns for later when he stops fighting and to care for his family/kids, but that he's not letting stuff get to his head by doing some handy work on the premises when needed. I bet a ?5er he don;t tile his houses now !

Well, Groves got himself into the mandatory slot, so fair play. It makes solid business sense for all concerned. Groves may never get an opportunity like this again... no reason for it not to happen.

couldn't find a decent quality version on YT so gave-up, however on the news very early yesterday morning I saw the stoppage on a TV news programme - it looked like Gerber was getting battered and not defending himself very well at the point the ref stepped-in.

I always thought Fury would find an excuse not to fight Haye, some excuse. He may never fight Haye now, we'll see.

I'd like to see Fury fight Wilder, but it's not worth it for Fury in terms of ratings / crowds. Until Wilder fights someone decent, he can't expect to face Chisora/Fury/etc. Wilder v Malik Scott would be interesting, both giants with heavy KO ratios. Also I'd like to see Magomed Abdusalamov v Wilder (or anyone, even Chisora).
