I remember thinking the same Keef only to find most of LL shut

I do remember a long lunch on NYD at the Bishop a couple of years ago - the Daily Mail reading inlaws liked the food but looked around at the customers and said "so this is the chattering classes is it?"

So the Bishop is open. I think. Has been before

Yes - I remember a few years ago a bunch of us trapsing round East Dulwich trying to find somewhere that was open to drink wine and eat well. I think we ended up at the Gowlett in the end, but as we had only left there at 4am that morning after a superb New Year's Eve party we were kind of hoping for a different venue!

Liquorish sounds like an option though -thanks.

Not sure if it's a happy coincidence or if recent steps have been taken but I reckon the food in the Bishop has seen a noticeable improvement of late - the spicy beef ribs for example are well good

( I'm not a first time poster so hopefully people will realise I have no connection with The Bishop!)

    • Our cat Booboo has been missing since early Sunday morning (09 March).   He's a three-year-old male cat with black fur (short).    He's recognisable from having very big feet - I think about two extra toes on each paw.   He's very nervous of strangers and doesn't go out the front of our house - he mainly hangs out in the back gardens on our block (Goodrich/Barry/Friern Road).   If you spot him please let us know (07771915355).

    • That's useful, thank you - I've got a Primark near my work. Primark is (perhaps surprisingly) also one of the most diligent when it comes to labour rights in the supply chain, and I have to say the bits I've had from there have been quite good quality and lasted a long time. But otoh it's still fast fashion I suppose.
