Estate Agent commission charge (in East Dulwich)

Hello,

Does anyone know what percentage Estate Agents are charging at the moment for a house sale? Particulary Haart on Lordship Lane? :)

I think most greedy estate agents used to charge 2% (or more) for a sale - but with dog eat dog I reckon you could play hardball and get them down to 0.5% in an environment where any business is very welcome.

But make sure the commission is agreed on the Sale price NOT the original asking price!

I can't think of an agent who will do 0.5%. Most have a minimum fee anyway.

Surely in times when it's hard to sell a property, they won't be *lowering* commission?

We looked at using Haart recently and they're fee was 1.5%
