Peckhamgatecrasher
Just watched a blinding episode of NMT Buzzcocks. Could be alcohol assisted, but it made me chuckle. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4729-on-tv-tonight/ Share on other sites
capt_birdseye
Simon Amstell is a very funny man. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4729-on-tv-tonight/#findComment-152757 Share on other sites

Kells
I missed it, Simon's hilarious though, but so was Mark Lamarr. And Russell Brand is on now, I can't help finding him funny. *Bob*
I tend to avoid NMTB - also TTIAA.I'm as disinterested in (probably) having to watch Sean Lock as I am in finding out whether Sally Gunnell has a sense of humour or not. mockney piers
As a rule HIGNFY is the only one of the million panel shows I'll watch, but if I'm curled up on the settee, i don't mind NMTB, Simon Amstell does make me chuckle.James would have liked him last night"Katie Perry who sang the song 'UR so gay', she of course means gay in the trendy new definition, meaning bad. God she's such a jew!! She shouldn't be so black about everything..etc." Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4729-on-tv-tonight/#findComment-152809 Share on other sites
Brendan
What about UUSHR or JJHSY. KJUSH had six on last week and JHYRT has recently got over the thing with the plastic. *Bob*
There's something about Mark Lamarr that just makes me feel I wouldn't want to be trapped in a lift with him. Anyway I think it's unfair of the BBC to employ two people - both called Mark - with the same haircut. As they say: "An evening stuck in a lift with Mark Kermode to our winners; and evening stuck in a lift with Mark Lamarr to our losers". mockney piers
Though Mark Lamarr only produces it these days he no longer fronts it; Amstells been at it for about 3 years now, you really don't watch it do you ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4729-on-tv-tonight/#findComment-152830 Share on other sites
*Bob*
Nope.I'm aware Amstell is 'in the seat' though, but somehow the reek of Lamarr still pervades. And all too often the panel seems to resemble a particularly bad night at Jongleurs. Keef
Amstell has been funny when I've seen him on Buzzcocks (about twice), but I can't forgive him for being on Pop World or whatever it's called. It's like th producers of that programme actually try to have the most annoying tw@ts in the world hosting the show! capt_birdseye
I disagree Keef, he was funny on that too. Really sarcy to all the rubbish interviewees. I seem to remember him really upsetting the Kooks, you can't ask for more than that can you?I never used to watch NMTB when Lamarr presented it, but these days it is very funny (if you like puerile humour, which I do). Keef
I seem to remember him really upsetting the KooksMaybe had I seen that I would have felt differently about him. They couldn't just relax and be funny though, it's like everything they said had to be somehow really sharp and cool and funny. It just got on my tits to be honest. He seems to have grown out of it though. Brendan
I do like the way that he finds a person?s sensitive point and then pokes at it until he has crossed the line. And then pokes some more. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4729-on-tv-tonight/#findComment-152878 Share on other sites
Jimbob
lamarr was a prick. i went to a few of the live recordings when he was the host and his crass attempts at humour were limited to taking the piss out of disabled people. i gave him the benefit of the doubt and went to another one and it was just more of the same, cheap laughs. as for jupitus ,the most unfunny person in comedy, at least having amstel in the hot seat gives him the chance to remove his tongue from up lamarrs hole. Pickle
I used to go to loads of the live recordings (free tickets, free drink, suited me perfectly!) - couldn't stand Mark Lamarr, came across as so arrogant, completely lacking in comic ability IMO. He put me off the show completely, haven't watched it since Simon started hosting - maybe I'll give it a try!
